Baloney is still baloney, no matter how thin you slice it.

Re: Sun-n-Fun 2011

I live about 5 minutes away.

I went today and will be back tomorrow. I'll probably try to catch the night show on Friday and the Angels on Saturday.

Re: Sun-n-Fun 2011

Air show got cancelled today due to inclement weather. Not cool. First of the Blue Angels arrived today. The rest show up tomorrow. I'm probably going to show up for $5 after 5 tomorrow. Hopefully the WX will cooperate

Was talking to a person there at Sun N Fun a few minutes ago and it was reported to me that they just had very high winds and some planes got knocked over.

Re: Sun-n-Fun 2011

Heard on Liveatc that a tornado touched down, saw some nasty pics of planes overturned and heard a hanger got tossed or collapsed. Hope you all there are okay.

I don't feel that bad about not being able to make it now. No sun and no fun being reported here. Ouch!

Re: Sun-n-Fun 2011

Horrible situation. Reports of 70 people trapped in large hangar. Got message that two just completed (like in the past month) customer Rans S-7S's sitting at the Rans booth were both destroyed. Pilots/Rans folks OK.

I'm sick to my stomach just thinking about it.

Re: Sun-n-Fun 2011

The report of the hangar collapse and trapped people has been confirmed to be false. All known individuals accounted for and no fatalities. There is a good collection of damage photos here:

Re: Sun-n-Fun 2011

Thats good.

You can see Rick McBrides (blue sun burst) and Tom Chapman (orangish red starburst) S-7S destroyed in this pic. Such a bummer

Re: Sun-n-Fun 2011

Holy crap.... The Zenith booth looks devastated.... The Yellow with blue checkerboard slats is the factory 750 demo... Two other 710/750 planes are in the background that are torn up too... One is sitting on top of a jet [-o< [-o< :(
Glad I didn't take my 801 down there and display it in their booth like I did at Oshkosh.

Ben.
