Is there a plan for some group back country flying adventures in the area? Mike

Not officially, but I think you can count on it.

Two bits of news.

1. The City of Llano will be giving a 15 cent per gallon discount off avgas for this event.
2. I've added a Certified LSA class.

Note: I added the following exclusions: Gliders, unmanned aerial vehicles, rotorcraft, powered parachutes, weight-shift, and lighter-than-air craft may not compete.

Sorry dogpilot, I know you are disappointed but you can't bring your Zeppelin.

If you want to go up, pull back on the controls. If you want to go down, pull back farther.

Because there are so many colors in the image I had to use a "direct to fabric" (or something like that) printing method instead of silk screening. The ink for this method is translucent so the shirt color affects how the image looks. The sand color shirt is the only color that allows the image to be bright and crisp, so is the only color choice.

Tragically, ATXCitab (Hank Sasser) perished in a crash in August 2014. He was a great guy and will be missed. -Z

Shirts look awesome.

If my 180 is out of project phase I would love to attend this.

Here is a link to the rules and general information. It is a work in progress which means I'll be adding to it. If the changes are significant I'll let you know. Within the document is a link to order the T-shirts in case you missed it earlier.

Re: Texas STOL Roundup - 2014

Tried to get some hats embroidered, but the artwork is to detailed, so shirts will have to do.

If you are coming and plan to stay in a hotel and haven't booked your reservations you'd better get on it. Hotels are filling fast because the wild flowers will be in bloom and the Texas Hill Country is a destination for folks this time of year.

I've updated the rules/info pages with more information about the event:

Just got off the phone with Bearhawk Aircraft. They are coming, will have a couple of planes to show, and they will compete.

This is going to be a blast.

Re: Texas STOL Roundup - 2014

Exciting news.

Two companies have stepped up as sponsors:

A.E.R.O. Inc is sponsoring the transportation on Saturday between the airport and town.
http://www.aeroinstock.com/

Bearhawk Aircraft is sponsoring the awards.

Be sure and give them a big thanks when you see them.

Sunday I'm off to Alaska to get the SQ-2 and fly it back to Texas - just in time for the Roundup. :D I'll see you all there.

Be sure and introduce yourselves.

Following the Al-Can down, then stopping for a day in Montana at Wayne Mackey's for an oil/filter change and a plane look-over. Then on to Texas.

Re: Texas STOL Roundup - 2014

Getting excited for the Roundup!

Anyone from the Texas panhandle or points north want to fly down together?

Phil how's the trip home going? If you happen to need a hangar in Amarillo I can help out. How about a link to you're Inreach page so we can jealously follow along.

Looking forward to meeting some of you and seeing lots of cool planes.

Oh and I'd be happy to buy a keg of Shiner one night if it's allowed.

Re: Texas STOL Roundup - 2014

Are there any sidecountry spots within a reasonable radius from Llano that we could hit and do some filming?
