Re: The Official 2010 BCP Johnson Creek Pic/Vid Thread

This year, we headed north to NW Montana to visit Glacier National Park before the fly-in. After a quick lunch stop at Blackfoot, where my sister dropped by to see us, we set out to see how far north we could get. There were some showers so we only made it to Seeley Lake, but what a great stop. We were even surprised by a BCP member who saw us land and recognized our aircraft. The park was great and Shafer, although a little damp/muddy, was nice to camp at.

Our third night was spent at Cavanaugh Bay after a fuel stop in Libby, MT. It was Adam's birthday, so we spent the afternoon in Coolin by the lake where he could throw rocks into the water.

The next day, we stopped at Elk City for breakfast on our way down to Johnson Creek. The next few days we checked out New Meadows, flew to Moose Creek for a picnic, and to Elk City for an afternoon treat on our way back to JC.

The potluck once again had great food and company. Thanks again to Lora for holding Sadie while we ate.

It was a great week of flying and camping. It was so good to see old friends and to make new ones. We can't believe that it has come and gone and now we have to wait another year. Thanks everyone!

The video is a little long and you'll have to endure the excessive shots of Adam and Sadie since this is going to the Grandparents too. :D Hope you enjoy!

Thanks guys. We are headed back up to Johnson Creek on Tuesday. I have a family reunion in Stanley this weekend so we are going to go do some flying/camping before it.

The next project is to do some updates on shortfield.com.

Nice Mark! The slip stream off the Stagger Wing at the end was cool.

Re: The Official 2010 BCP Johnson Creek Pic/Vid Thread

I just saw the vid for the first time of me and Dokmow, and realized the windbreaker I was wearing is now somewhere over the St. Anthony sand dunes area. My door popped open (my fault, the latch wasn't adjusted right, no problem aero wise, it'll just hang there half way open), and hours later somewhere in Montana it was getting a little cool and I went searching throughout the plane for my coat. All of a sudden it dawned on me, it was loose in the cockpit when the door popped opened and now history. #-o

Re: The Official 2010 BCP Johnson Creek Pic/Vid Thread

Well after HiC dusted off this thread, I started looking at my old 2010 pics and videos. Well it didn't take long for me to throw some music in the mix to make a little 2010 JC video.

Thanks again everyone, it's truly moments like these that make life so special.

Is it June 2011 yet?

Thank you Matt. I know it is labor intensive to make good videos like that. What a great bunch of people! I feel privileged to know with y'all.

So Zane: how you going to get to JC in June? You pay to UPS my 250lbs of camping gear to JC and you and dad can come with me from Troutdale and back. Leave Tuesday or Wednesday, return Sunday. Weather permitting.

Cheers...Rob

Matt, that was great! Nice job capturing the personality of the gang, we need more videos like this in the future.

Rob, we'll talk about that. Appreciate the offer.
