Re: Sierra Flying / Nor Cal

I will have to fly up to Truckee early Sun. AM and meet everyone before fly-out. I have to fly to South Lake at the end of flying Sunday, but may be able to fly again Monday AM if anyone is going.

I will fly up either Saturday afternoon and camp out at truckee or fly up Sunday morning. Depends on my wife and the winds.

Scott and Emmet let's come up with a plan here pretty soon. I am good to go but would like to just be gone one night if I can help it.

Re: Sierra Flying / Nor Cal

We should do Saturday most of the day and Sunday morning. How does that sound?

Pretty easy to camp at the ranch or in my hanger...

Sounds like we may have at least 7 or 8 planes for certain...

Re: Sierra Flying / Nor Cal

Well, due to family issues I'll be flying up early Saturday morning. No camping for me this time. Let me know where I can meet y'all once I get to TRK.

Would still like to do a campout in the future. Just isn't working for the family right now.

Re: Sierra Flying / Nor Cal

So what's the verdict? Fly Saturday and Sunday? Rob want to camp at Truckee on Friday night? I will bring Steve Henrys DVD if Kevins Hangar TV offer still stands. I need a firm plan here soon so I can plan something with my family for whatever is left of the weekend.

Re: Sierra Flying / Nor Cal

Lets do Saturday early (730am start if possible) and camp Saturday night at Truckee? Really want to get you guys on the south cirucuit as well and we can get an early start on Sunday morning, done by noon and sending you guys on your way. Depending on numbers, we can also camp on the start of south circuit for an early departure in the AM. Will decide that on Saturday while flying. Its very easy to do. Fuel options in Truckee are easy and others fuel stops are within 10 minutes of both circuits. Depending on your burn, you can plan for going light about everywhere with fuel stops in Beckworth / Nervino on the Northern cirq and Minden, Carson city on the south loop. Light and early AM is key if we want to land up high!!

Would be great to know who is really coming??

So far sounds like:

Emmet?
Joey
Rob
Svanarts
HarryV?
TimK
Buzz?
Coyote?
Donna?
260Driver?
Vick?
WE NEED GUMP!!!
lowrider
Who else???

Just needing some numbers. I have a keg we can crack if we have the numbers and BBQ we can use! I will have meats and eats with beer for everyone. You just need your self here!!! But again needing some numbers please.

Will continue to update this as we here from people. Send me a PM or post here.

I'm in along with a friend who is tagging along. We plan on camping Friday night in TRK. Any beta on camping there/facilities available?

Looking forward to meeting y'all and getting schooled!

Re: UPDATED Sierra / Nor Cal fly in Sat 3rd and Sunday 4th

We have a group camp site reserved over by the glider port. Its in the Martis Reservoir camp area. Firewood is available there as well. Flying to Stampede Res in the AM to have a look at our runway. Its been getting better every day so we may camp there. If so, bring your fishing pole! Will update tomorrow on this. Bottom-line, we have a spot at the KTRK airport now with my hanger close by as its convenient except that the camp ground is on the other side of the airport...not so convenient. Again, will update, but I will have dinner for you guys on Saturday night with cold beverage!

Man, looks like this is shaping up to be a kickass little fly-in. I'll be out of town, if all goes to plan I'll be back the following week with my 180. Should leave plenty of time for some good fall flying so I'll be up there yet Kevin.

Have fun guys, looking forward to pics!
