Didn't you steal this from one of the Maule threads and just change "Maule" to "Cub" ?
Just wondering.

Darn it! Caught red handed!

Just a highly successful marketing campaign with a great american name. It is amazing how many other manufacturers try to mimic both the looks and sound. I agree that it is not the most reliable motorcycle in the world, but it is one of the most recoginized icons. I personally would drive one of the others with a watercooled powerplant. :D

haha aaaaaahh....*sigh*. That made me laugh.

Apologies to anyone who's a Harley enthusiast.

What about Melanie Griffith? Does this movie have any..."gratuity?"

Nope, too much oomph for my taste. I like to take my time.

SC's in my opinion have become a highly specialized aircraft. If I could afford a hanger full of aircraft, a SC would be one of them.
There are no bad aircraft. Of course the best aircraft is whatever I happen to own at the time
I will tell you that I used to hang out over there, Cloudancer is funny as hell. They are overly concsious or a little full of themselves, let's not let this forum go that way.
Anticub, I would suggest you consider a name change. Nobody has picked on you just because you haven't evolved beyond a primary flight trainer, or even because you fly an airplane with the litttle wheel on the wrong end. I hope you realize I'm just kidding, but not about the name change, It prejudices people when you have a screen name like that.
Please the airplane type you fly is irrelevent, really

Yeah, Dammit! :x You SC owners are driving up the price. Any C-150 owner (me) knows $29.95 is a fair market price for an honest plane.

Drooled all over the wing I was washing as I watched a Super Cub depart the local field. Off the ground in around 100 feet. I'm still outside pushing the first 100 feet.

Well, without repeating my earlier post, I don't have anything against Super Cubs, or any other planes out there. And my first post in this thread was ment to be a humorous poke at them.

I do have a problem with:
1. People who try to convince me to buy one. Usually non pilots who want me to take them hunting, or Cub owners who can't seem to understand why I don't want to land off airport.

2. People who own Cubs and won't admit that it has any flaws. Every machine is a ball of compromizies. And yeah, you'll find people that way about any machine, but the Cub fanatics are the most common around Alaskan Airports. And my comment about the F-15 earlier was from an actual conversation. A group of us were discussing a fast cross country kit plane, Lanceair or similar. And a Cub driver piped up with "Yeah, but it can't take-off like a Super Cub." Well, Duh!

3. People who arn't even pilots, or hunters, or have any other use for a Super Cub who go on and on about how wonderfull they are. You can't imagine how many people find out I'm a pilot and start asking about costs. How much does it cost to get a pilots license? How much does a Cub cost? How much to insure a Cub? About that point I ask why they want to fly. The answer is almost always "To go hunting". I then explain to them that for the cost of owning a Super Cub they could charter 2 hunting trips a year. They always seem disappointed somehow.

Ok, maybe I am a little biased against Super Cubs....;)

I chose my user name for another site, SuperCub.org. After meeting Clouddancer and a few other members at an unofficial supercub party. Some of those guys do have a sense of humor after all. :)) And several friends who I've known for years are always talking about threads on that site. So what the heck, they haven't booted me yet. :D

Zane, I'd already been thining of changing my name for this forum since it's not really appropriate here. With you're approval I do it. Maybe I'll go with Maule_Basher this time? 8) (Just kidding!) I'll probably go with Tundra_flier since I already use that one on several other forums. But the "Cub Free Zone" Sign in my hangar stays [-(

Yeah, good thing I managed to step up from the 7GCBC on 8.50's I got my PPC in. Or the Cherokee 140/160 I rented for a while. Hey maybe someday I can evolved all the way up to an Ultralight! :D Oops, nope, had one of those for a couple years before I got my license.

Yes, I'm trying to be funny again! :p

And the screen name wasn't ment to prejudice, only give fair warning

I have a Harley. But I'm done buying there merchandise. To much of it is made in China. I don't mind paying those prices if it is going to a Legal American worker, but it is not. My Honda Gold Wing has more American parts than my Harley. WTF

Zane, it's been years since I've seen it-- I didn't even remember the airplane being in the movie-- but I do believe that there is a little Melanie Griffith gratuity displayed. Woo-hoo!
I used to ride Harleys back in the day... IMHO, the last real Harley was manufactured about 1984. If it don't leak oil and vibrate, it ain't shit. Panheads rule!
BTW, a while back I was talking about my flying with an old riding buddy that I hadn't talked to in years. He didn't really get it until I told him my 170 was the aviation equivalent of a rigid-framed panhead.

Hi anticub,
I wasn't offended by your post... and don't really have a care about you s/n.
I think it should be pretty obvious it's all in fun.... it does kind of distract credibility and seem white trashy.... but then so do long hair and tattoos  (I resemble that remark)
It is a drag to see chest thumpers come out of the woodwork to brag up their planes, but maybe it's just been the cubbers you've ran into? Most folks I've ran into with cubs in the sticks have been pretty darn cool...
Take care, Rob
(not anti-c150) 8)
BTW, I've got right at 50K in this cub, so they're not all quarter mill$ hangar queens:

Rob,
From the looks of that plane, if you have less than 50 in it, then you can retire the day you sell it. Nice looking Cub.
