Never heard of a C162 SkyCatcher until now, and it sure does look like the old C150.

But, I bet you could buy a C150, rebuild it from the ground up to better than new, put in an all glass panel, and still have 100K left over from the purchase price of one of those C162's... That'd pay for a lifetime worth of gas and insurance.

That might be tough to do Gump, the intro price is set at $109k.

Maybe Cub Crafters?

I guess you could find a old Cessna 150 - cheap. Get a grip looser!

Have a nice day!

Well... So not 100K left over, but still a lot of gas and beer money with a C150.

Anticub,

You just got a taste of your own medicine. Anybody who uses a name like "Anticub", who insults people because they fly or own a particular aircraft, or associates the flying techniques of an irresponsible pilot with all others flying the same equipment, deserves to be hammered. :D

Savannah-Tom wrote:I just watched a "B" grade movie with Melanie Griffith called Cherry 2000. Near the end she was flying a yellow tandem plane with big bush tires. The cylinder heads did not stick out of the cowl, so I don't think it was a Cub.

If someone else will actually admit to seeing this movie and knows what the plane was and what size tires were they running I'd be curious to know. I'd guess the tires were 28 or 30 inches.

It was pretty neat to see the suspension working on the bumps of the sand dunes. Also, one turn was especially steep.

I know.... old.... post... but Melanie is cute, and the flyin is pretty cool... The rest of the movie isn't really that hot tho.. I liked the Champ tho, wonder where it is now??
