Well compacted from the river receding and the water draining through it.

Where did you fly today?

Troutdale to Joseph. Got a log cabin from the local college auction. I think I'll hit Johnson Creek tomorrow since I'm 40 minutes away. Talked to Wup about buying a pair of 31s before JC

Salem to Sportsman to surprise family, but nobody home. Off to Pacific City and then Waconda Beach. Back to Salem. With the wife who is beginning to enjoy bopping around.

Re: Where did you fly today?

The 1964 Cessna 150D leaped from Hamilton's runway 16 as all hundred horses started pulling in the cool Montana air. It didn't seem like much, but it was all that was available and it was sufficient.

I was alone, and felt very insignificant as I climbed Lost Horse Canyon, past frozen lakes and over the snowbound Bear Creek Pass. It was a near spiritual experience, descending the canyon towards the Selway River, waterfalls at their peak and new life everywhere.

Thirty minutes later and I was on the ground at Shearer Airstrip. It was as beautiful as I have ever seen it. It doesn't get much better than this. For just a moment, all my headaches, troubles and worries disappeared, and I felt like I was in heaven. I dropped to my knees and thanked the Lord above for my blessings, and asked for strength to carry on. Idaho's Selway Bitterroot Wilderness is as good as it gets!

I pulled on 10 degrees of flaps at 6:30 a.m. in the frosty air and had a wonderful return trip, enjoying every minute of it. I look forward to my next flight, and it will probably be the same route.

Re: Where did you fly today?

I flew from S49 to 28U ( the Owyhee Res. State airport ) I took the wind sock down and fixed it. I don't know why they put those up with those plastic wire ties. They sun rot and break. I used some rope and tied it up good and tight. The sock was still intact, but was sagged in on the top were it came undone. The runway is dry and the Hotel Hilton is good. Needs some work on the screen door. a couple of bolts and washers. I might take some stuff down and fix it. The Madras and the Hood River boys will be there on Memorial Day weekend. It all looked good.

Re: Where did you fly today?

Flew to Hampton NH 7B3 for the annual "Fly Market". Beautiful day and planes of almost every type imaginable--see big tire bush planes, copters, super cubs on floats and taildraggers, TUNDRA, Bearhawk, SeaMax, etc. Those little floats sold for only $2000--my neighbor wanted them for his Triton project but the price was $3000 when he asked--he should have traded harder !

Bryan got his plane back and yesterday we flew down to Santa Maria to drop it off for paint and I gave him a ride back.

Of course we had to stop and play along the way

Out bird hunting? The Mooney doesn't look like it needs much paint from that angle.
