Geez, I'm on some kind of roll, the third 8K+ newbie this week, the weather has been so perfect I've been setting the alarm for 5 and in the air by 6 and flying 3 to 5 hours just about every day. And, when I get back to my place, it's STILL calm, it just doesn't get any better.
Big time rock climber destination "City of the Rocks", I'd rather be in the air.

Then on up higher, to the 8600' level, big rocks all around, but I found this area that was nothing but gravel. It just took a little circling and 10 minutes or so to spot and setup. I wasn't in a hurry that's for sure.

There was a little spring fed pond you can see in the last picture, that if used for micro hydro elctricity, would have about 1500 PSI of pressure due to the short and steep drop to the valley 3500' below! At that pressure it doesn't take much GPM to put out some real power, my own only has 147' of fall, at 90 GPM, and I get 800 watts 24/7, caution:thread drift!
