Back to my solar job, again, due to a bad charge controller. Against my better judgement I flew in, though the owner told me he now had cows in the pasture I've been landing in. My S-7S is singularly ill suited to moving cows, it's too damn quiet, though what I lacked in noise power I made up in proximity and they did finally get the idea and move on down a ways. I never thought as a kid growing up in a Michigan suburb, I'd one day be an aerial cowboy, and getting paid for it.

To my everlasting amazement, I pulled off the landing WITHOUT hitting a fresh warm pile of cow crap, that would of course dry and harden on the flight home. Maybe they were constipated but both in and out, no crap! While I was working they edged back closer while I wasn't looking, I worked faster....and out smarted them,

I had brought a ladder on the wing strut, and figured I had time before my morning crane job to hit a new site on the way home. Good enough to fly with, good enough to land with, was the thinking. My 9:30 crane job was for a guy (an inactive pilot, so sad....) who delights in yanking my chain if he knows I've been out flying before getting back to work, and he's always trying to catch me out being late for a lift because I've been out flying. Sure enough, right at 9:27, just as I turn the corner, he called me to ask when I was going to be there (as if I was late), then saw the crane and hung up, frigging perfect timing and I'm so glad I took the time to land that lake side site. I made like I didn't notice he had just called, and he made like he hadn't, but we both knew I won that round.

I'm off to JC in the AM, and wish I had the carefree exuberance of many of you headed there, (not that's there anything wrong with that) but frankly I am dreading the traffic, just wanted to get that out there, it'll be fun once landed but man I am going to keep my eyeballs peeled. I'm so damn spoiled as far as a busy area I forget it is not a big deal, just pay attention, I plan to do so big time.
