Re: Which Engine Analyzer

Hurry-

Need to replace my UGB-16 and FS-450. Really would like to have digital Oil Pressure and Oil Temp on my UGB-16. Bought the probes etc at Sun N Fun a couple years ago. CS has been cryptic on how to install on my 185. Thinking of just going the EDM route.

We do offer an update package for our CGR-30P Premium or CGR-30-Combo which uses the existing EGT/CHT probes and cables from an exist ing engine monitor and can use your existing fuel flow transducer. As you already have one of our engine monitors installed, you will save quite a bit on labor as we will provide an adapter harness for the UBG to CGR. The EGT and CHT probes would be as "plug and play" as possible. Worth noting, these packages also sell for less than the standard packages.

That sounds really attractive.

So an adapter harness would work for me to use the existing FP-5L and UBG-16 adapted to a CGR-30P upgrade/install?

Re: Which Engine Analyzer

Unfortunately you would loose the "clocking" option, it's no longer supported by the manufacturer

That was a special order option, so I'd understand. [emoji16]

Only on the experimental version. :D

***NOTE**** We do not offer an experimental version of the CGR-30P. The reply was only meant in jest.

In response to the adapter harness, it would adapt the UBG-16's EGT and CHT probes/harnesses to the CGR-30P's EDC-33P middle connector. As such, no new probes and cables would need to be installed. The system would also utilize the existing fuel flow transducer, but a new harness would need to be run from the EDC to the flow transducer.

LOL! (re EXPERIMENTAL joke) [emoji16]

Thank you so much for the clarification. This is a fantastic upgrade option that I'm going to seriously consider.

I've been communicating regularly with IE technical support during my instrument panel upgrade. They've have been very helpful each and every time we conversed.

Re: Which Engine Analyzer

I've run into one issue with EI which is I found out are the EI FT-60 and FT-90 Fuel Transducer Cubes. I found out unfortunately that they are not serviceable if they are malfunctioning and must be discarded.

Are others running into issues with these cubes? One other pilot friend I know has gone through a few but I am wondering how widespread the issue is.
