Your right #-o

Here are the last ones on my phone.
Everything ready for the truck. Forgot to take photos in the truck or in the hangar. 14 hours of driving and truck unloading sucks.

Polished and ready to go with cold weather baffles. Holes enlarged for #6 screws. Since the nosebowl is split, these have to be removable.

I have 180 legs. The non-wheels-forward type. .....

That's a good choice.
I had the heavier wheels forward gear on my ragwing 170,
they were too stiff IMHO and also made the tail too heavy on the ground.

These guys do really, really nice work too. I was worried about farming that much out but it looks like a factory job. Couldn't be happier with them and will be sure to send any other wing/control surface work their way.

Did you ship your wings to them - what does that cost?

From Pittsburgh, it was a 4 or 5 hour drive so I just rented a 20' uHaul.
ProTip: It's cheaper to rent one-way with a car trailer on the back than to drive an empty truck back. The car trailer was an extra $100 and I paid more than that just in gas to get home plus uHaul per mile charge.

From their shop to my house in DC, I use Denan Transport 931-505-2158. Elizabeth was great and the timing was perfect. Else, I would have done the uHaul thing again.
Fro my house back to Pittsburgh was a uHaul with car trailer.

Re: (Yet Another) Cessna 170 project

What a sweet looking 170, wow very nice work Bagarre, quick question or two if I may. I'm assuming you used the Conti IO-360 engine mount so what modifications where required at the firewall or do the original mounting points as per the 0-300 mount match and did you stiffen the firewall at all ?

Thank you in advance, cheers

Have you decided on a paint scheme yet? Would be a shame to leave it like that.

The IO-360 mounts up to the firewall unmodified. The mount is specific. Uses an IO-360 cradle with new legs to fit the 170 firewall.
I have an extra mount with no paperwork if you're interested.

I think it looks great just like that. I met a guy who had stripped 35 lbs of paint of a 182. That’s significant.

I think Bagarre done about a gazillion hours of polishing; that's significant, the results show it and its impressive

Re: (Yet Another) Cessna 170 project

Hey Bagarre! Any update on this project? Looks great! Just bought one of the sister planes to yours. Mine is 2 serial numbers off from yours (20845) with N Number N2693D. Found a picture from long ago with both of our planes together. Hope to see some progress reports!
