I sold some parts to my friend Jake- aka Slantbuggy for his 65 180H Project in Maine. I agreed to ship them to him for the price negotiated. Last batch of tailwheels that I sold got lost in the USPS mail system for about a month, and luckily were found.
If you have a place for me to visit, Off Airport Gear will offer in house guaranteed shipment and delivery in a classic 1957 182A.
I decided last minute to hand deliver the items, mainly because I've always wanted to venture up to the Northeast, and I had the time, so what the hell! Sorry to all my friends that I missed meeting up with. It was definitely a last minute idea and wasn't planning on staying, but the weather moved in a little bit quicker than anticipated. Admittedly, I was happy to be stuck for the night, and glad I packed an overnight bag.
The accommodations were excellent! Thanks Jake!
We were having a heat wave in PA and the forecast temps up North were very inviting.

This looked like an Airstrip that was abandoned. Looked like a possible camping location for the future...

Jakes Place, my plane and the Slantbuggy. Maple Ridge Airport. This is a dream hangar!

A beautiful Aeronca Sedan also resides here

Slantbuggy. I had some nose fork and tire envy happening....

Lunch was great at the House of Pizza.

Whoops. Waited too long........ Oh well. I could think of worse places to be stuck!

Daisy was in her element. She would not stay out of the water!

The next day, I wanted to go northwest to see Mt Washington. Bethel, ME had cheap fuel so I went there to fill up. This Super Cub, just out of a fresh restoration in Nova Scotia was on its way to OSH. I like the registration.

Mt. Washington was looking gorgeous on Sunday. Mt. Washington is the highest peak east of the Mississippi. White Mountains, Presidential Range.

This airplane continues to take me to new places faster, and with more capability than I ever imagined. I am so happy that I found her. I have transitioned from being obsessed about the flying, to being immersed in the destination, and all the adventure in between. That's what this has always been about. It's really easy to get caught up in the plane, or in the setup, but its really where these planes can take you, and the people that you meet that really fuels this passion. For me, anyway.
