SQ2'n to Alaska

Did you fly somewhere cool, take photos, and feel like telling the tale to make us drool from the confines of our offices? Post them up!

+2 I bet I am not alone glued to this thread this morning. Thanks for the motivation to get into the garage and keep building!

A nice gravel bar on the way to Bozeman (Livingston Montana area). Done for the day. Oil changed. Start again first thing in the morning.Image

I'm in Airdrie, just north of Calgary international. (403) 861-four one nine nine. Call me if you land anywhere in the vicinity. Even if it's just for a ride to Subway for a sandwich to go.

Woltermann Memorial!! I stayed in that cabin back in 2014. Nicest accommodations of my whole trip!

Re: SQ2'n to Alaska

Good morning all. About to head for breakfast and then start again. Once Im home in AK I'll come back and add a description and location to some of the pictures, can be hard to do at times while flying. Glad you folks are enjoying this, I appreciate the opportunity to do it, helps make the trip go faster for sure. And if I don't respond directly to a question I'm not ignoring anyone just otherwise occupied at the time. Great trip so far, looking forward to today other then the whole eAPIS customs thing, but that will work itself through. See you guys here in a couple of hours.

Re: SQ2'n to Alaska

Looking good but also reminds me why I like my RV for traveling long distances. Left Reno Saturday morning at 9, arrived in Atlin yesterday at 1:30 pm. Included an overnight in Quesnel. Yesterday was fantastic flying - perfectly clear skies and 80% of the time was the smoothest air I've ever flown in, all with a 10-15 mph tailwind. Maybe will see you here if you come through this way.

Re: SQ2'n to Alaska

My ground track ought to look interesting, had to snake my way through the mountain passes with rain and clouds. Finally out of the rain, woohoo!

Re: SQ2'n to Alaska

There's a new fire south od Valleyview. That's east of Grande Prairie. You will probably be west of it, but just wanted to give you a heads up. Lots of tanks and chopper traffic, and a bunch of people evacuated. Enjoying all the pictures!
