Where did you fly today?

Did you fly somewhere cool, take photos, and feel like telling the tale to make us drool from the confines of our offices? Post them up!

Heading to the FSDO next week to update my civilian ticket. It'll add Commercial AMEL and Instrument Airplane!

Also emailed a guy about adding an ASEL to the rating. I don't think it'll take but a flight or two and then my first civilian checkride.

Congratulations Cam. I wonder often how it's going for you. I'm certainly jealous.

Re: Where did you fly today?

Thanks guys!

I ended up emailing two places in the area down here about the SEL stuff and got really quick responses back. Hopefully I'll get that lined up soon!

Got my instrument at enterprise. Worked out well. Seemed like ok folks and the planes were tired but acceptable. My skywagon intimidated the instructor a little, but what he didn't know was that it scared me too.

Local flight with my kids this morning. Snow squalls to the west and clear skies to the east.

I'd love to be camped out on Ninety Mile Beach right about now.
Nice Pics!
Just a tad bit cooler here.
Trying out a new camera mount / angle.

Nice. So westwater has a strip hey? Is it private? I did a river trip through there a few years ago.
How feasible would it be to land at Mack and ride my bike to the Fruita trails near Loma? Is it close enough? Could I camp at the airport?
Just making plans for the summer already =D>

Yes the strip is private but the owner is easy to talk to and let's most people land there.
It's an east 3 mile ride from Mack to the trails in the Loma area. 10 puts you in Rabbit Valley.
You can access a ton of World Class mtnbike trails near Mack. I can point you to some primo single track that is not published.
You can borrow the airport "limo" and hit the trails in Junction too. Really worth the short drive.
There is great camping at Mack and plenty of locals to show you around.
Give Ladd a call to work out camping and hanger details.
The Caveman fly-in is tentatively scheduled for 16,17,18 May. Definitely would be a good trip to combine it with your trip.

Re: Where did you fly today?

Cool pics, BRD!

I had a 6.7 day out night return to complete all my ASEL add-on requirements last night!

Tomorrow I'll take another dual flight to run through the maneuvers a few more times and then line up the checkride before the end of the week when I lose access to this plane.

Nice video S-12!

In a few of the shots your airspeed was jumping around a little. Was it bumpy out?
