Spent the morning looking for critters in the Cub. Spent the afternoon tuning up in the Bush Hawk to make sure I could get it in and out of the shorter strip it now calls home, then ferrying it over. Then spent the evening rubbing the shine off my new bushwheels!![]()
(not my hangar, but I'm lucky enough to get to fly em)

Chosstronaught and I took off from Corvallis. Flew along the river a bit looking for Little John. No sign of him doing float landings so we headed west towards Toledo, hitting a strip that the Chossmeister found a while back, about 1000', one way, slopes up hill. Apparently they graze cows on it too and fairly recently.
Off to Toledo for BBQ lunch then hit most of the smaller strips up the coast, Pacific City, Nehalem, and Ilwaco. Afterwards flew up the Columbia towards kelso. Found a strip on an island. Chart says martins but we think Martins is gone and this is a new one. Did low passes. A lady came out on the porch. Looked for waving but she didn't seem to be inviting so continued on to the West to Joe's strip. Joe had his logging rig on the runway and there were a couple of cars and a quad. Suddenly the truck started moving off the runway then the cars. Of course we were obligated to stop by then. The Choss dude has no problem with this 650 foot strip that also slopes uphill. Took me two tries to get it. Taking off I was able to clear the trees with a slightly more comfortable margin than the time before. Challenging strip for a 172.
One final stop on Cottonwood island. His Chossticle noticed another airplane on a ridiculously small beach. Turned out to be Loni.
Great day with clear skies and good or calm winds.

That did sound like an very awesome trip. The Oregon Coast is incredible. Do you, Ha, the Chossticle aka Chossinator, Chossabator, Chossilizer or the Loopster got any more photos to post? Love to fly that area one day.
