I've been looking on Google Earth and how far back does that paved road goes? I see it's paved to the plant and even see some other rigs at the plant.

Is it a good wide smooth road for a 80k pound rig and almost 80 feet long?? I don't mind a little bit of a dirt road. Just as long as I don't get stuck. Hmm :-k

Re: OFFICIAL CAVEMAN FLYIN THREAD NEW DATES May 24-26

I've driven the road from Moab to where Caveman's road branches off from the dirt road... I doubt it but I'm not sure how much good road you need... no way can you go down his access road I'm sure of that.. but I figure a lot of heavy stuff travels the dirt road to the settling ponds....even so where would you park a rig that size in the area where the access road to caveman branches off...

Pat
You'll need to park in the lot at the end of the pavement and we'll get you a ride down from there.

Re: OFFICIAL 2013 CAVEMAN LUAU FLYIN THREAD DATES May 24-2

A ride from the airport would be pretty easy too. Also plenty of rental options - it's a tourist town.

Hi Eernie
I thought I responded to this onece, but don't see it now. I have you down for a cave, and if you need to leave early to beat the weather, you and Stacie are always welcome here.

Piperpainter, I've seen you put that Mooney in some amazing spots, you can really make that plane talk! But if you are thinking about stuffing 5 of your buddies or girlfriends in that Mooney, I want to WATCH! =D> Ha Ha!! Look forward to seeing you and your group down there! It was fun parking beside you at JC last year. I still have to go into Lower Loon and you and the Mooney already have! Thread drift

Back on spot. We'll be camping, 1-lg t-shirt, 2 for the Luau, and John will have breakfast each day you are cooking. We plan on coming down to the area Wed/Thurs. Maybe camp out 1 night at Cedar Mtn or Mexican Mtn. We plan on staying through Monday, which is Memorial Day.

Looking forward to seeing Rod, Hunter, Paula and Johnny.

Re: 2013 Caveman Ranch Luau fly-in - May 24-26

There are probly some pictures of them on one of the other threads, but they are probly 10-15' wide, maybe 20' or so deep. No furnishings or amenities. Just good shelter. Patio door on the entrance. There is not a set fee, just a donation. I recommend a minimum of $30. I think it is great that they share this with us, and they don't get much out of this for there generosity. I think it is a small price to pay to be able to enjoy such an awesome spot, and great hospitality. Same with the camping. I suggest a minimum of $8/night.
