Re: 8/21/2010 Austin Fly In, Austin Nevada (9U3)

I tried to make it last year but couldn't

I am going to try again this year.

I have been into austin a couple of times but no one was around.

I live close and figured one of these day I would like to meet up with Coyote Ugly....

It looks like a good time down there.

If you want to go up, pull back on the controls. If you want to go down, pull back farther.

I'm thinking 70 to 75 degrees with a light breeze (to move the dust out).
Any warmer than that we will need a shuttle to town for Ice Cream... Like last year before the Monsoon

Oh yeah, some high Stratocirrus to cut down on the UV's would be nice too! Hey, just put it on PayPal.

How's it look for 100LL?

I thought "controle" was Euro spelling? Sorta like colour vs. color.

I'm about 20 miles further from Austin than Trent (141 miles), so don't have much reason for not making it this year - - I'm working on coming up with one, though - - any suggestions appreciated.

While aviation has made the world a smaller place, if you fall, it's still hard to miss!

They keep saying it will happen this year, 100LL and Jet A, Self Serve, but knowing how these things work, I will be pleasantly surprised if it is in before the fly-in... Last info I got was that it's still sitting on a desk in FAA, San Francisco.
I did scare up a nice 500 gal. vault tank for mogas, just gotta get it cleaned up good, plumbed, wired etc.... Just heard that all our car gas is going to have ethanol now...

Y-4, in answer to your question about the brand on our steer, it's kinda haired over with winter hair, but appears to be: -bq
I looked it up in the brand book, and seems it to belong to an often absent cattleman with range permits someplace out between Secret Valley and Mystery Creek.

In Oregon all car gas has eth but some of the bulk plants carry 91 octane clear (no eth). If that will be the same in Nevada, then mayabe you can get a bulk plant to deliver it to the airport.

Pacific Pride card lock in McMinnville, OR. sells eth. free gas. Might be the place to find it in Nevada?

Howdy JD. Well the boys are dusting off their hats, taking a bath and shinin' their boots....looks like we are heading back to see you. Everybody had so much fun last time that we just had to put you on the calendar for this year. We even hope to bring a few more friends with aeroplanes. I hope that cow you have lined up isn't one that we lost off the ranch before we left, she may be a little old. You might want to start marinating the old girl right away.
