Re: Anyone interested in a fall flyin at Caveman Ranch???

We are very disappointed that the weather prevented us from getting to Caveman this weekend from Tucson. I sure hate to be all packed up, fueled up, and fired up for a great trip and have to cancel due to mother nature. On the bright side, there will be another day and another trip in the future. Many thanks to Gary for all the time and effort that he put into this adventure to make it successful. Unfortunately, he just can't control the weather.

Good wx here today. Rain gone. Flew to Dolris Point and now Gateway for breakfast. Smooth air. Cheers ...Rob

Looks like they took the scenic way too.

For Pete's sake Rob, don't go all that way and not check out the museum!

Re: Anyone interested in a fall flyin at Caveman Ranch???

Well
We had a total of 6 planes by the end of the weekend. Rob and me showed up Thurs. which was a good day of flyin for me(couple hours), and most of it sounded good for Rob.

Fri. we tried to get to Gatewway and Blu's but couldn't make it. so we went back and drank and shot pool. Still a good day. :D Lot of drizzly rain, day and night.
Sat. was better, and we headed to Gateway/Blu's again. Had a great trip up the river. Great b'fast, then over to Blu's. Dragged him, Jada(wife) and the Cub out of the house and went up to Mack Mesa. Pretty cool spot, and great guy (Ladd) over seeing the operation there. Washed off about an acre of real estate off the planes that we picked up at Blu's. Then headed on down the river, and back to Caveman.

Got there, and Steve had showed up from Idaho. Had found the margs, and was in a pretty good mood by the time we got there. More pool and more margs, another good day.

This AM, Steve(the owner of Mack Mesa) and Ladd showed up for b'fast.
Rob headed to So. Cal this Am. Most everyone was back inthe air by 11. Was a god time. Shame, but understandable that more couldn't make it. It has been rescheduled for next weekend if anyone wants to try again.
Big thanks to Rod, Paula, Hunter, and Johny for what could have been a loooooong, duuuuulll, soooogggy , weekend, into one that was fun, with a lot of great food.

Thanks to the others for their efforts to try and make it, sorry you couldn't, and better luck next time.

Gary

If you want to go up, pull back on the controls. If you want to go down, pull back farther.

I for one had a good time. Met some new pilots, saw new places. Thanks Rod, Paula, Hunter, and Johnny. Keep practicing your pool Rod and Hunter, there is a rematch in the spring.

Tomorrow red mud removal drill.

I'm in Palm Desert, Ca. now. Good flight over, a little bumpy and 10-20 headwind. Cal Black Mogas 3.12, Lake Havasue City Avgas 3.89.

Cheers

I wish I could stay down here for a month Butch, but I know my wife misses me and I miss her too  I am very luck and blessed with the amount of fun I get to have with the Maule. All the great pilots I have spent time with. I'll be back for more God willing.

I am going to start back to Orygun (Gary) tomorrow. I hope the winds go as forecast. Today is ugly in the desert.

Yes what weekend is being contemplated please? I spoke with Rod Tangren yesterday and personally have permission to fly to Caveman Oct 21 and 22 since I have a Liability form that he has from 2 years ago.

Please let me know if a Fly In is planned

Thank you
