Anyone interested in a fall flyin at Caveman Ranch???

Seemed like all those that attended the Caveman Flyin had a pretty good time. Some wanted to go and the timing didn't work out for them. Some thought maybe one in the fall would be good.
I asked Rod about having one in the fall, and he was cool with it.
I'm thinkin if we do it, maybe mid-late October, and call it Cavefest.
So, I guess the next step is to see if there is any interest.
So, whatdaya think, Wanna have a Cavefest???

Short answer: Yes.

Mid-late fall is a great time to fly in the Southwest. The Spring fly-in there is not so great cause the weather is often sucky - lots of wind, for one thing.

I suggest late October - the New Mexico Pilots Associate backcountry fly-in at Negrito is the first weekend in October.

Sure would like to make a Caveman shindig but the last week of September through Thanksgiving is nonstop soybeans and corn harvest.

I will do my best to make it. I liked the format that was presented in May. I would also like to put my bid in for a room. If you need the money for the shindig let me know. Had perfect wx when Rob and I went there last year, really missed not going there this spring. HC

You let me know when you can to come down, we'll gather up some friends and go have our own party.

HiC
Don't think we will need any money in advance, that will be up to you, just a good head count is appreciated. Rooms will be available in the order spoken for. So, you got the first one =D> I haven't been over there this summer, so I don't know anything about them, but will probably get over there next month. Headed to Id. next week, then Austin. I'll go to Caveman possably on the way back from Austin, or shortly there after.

While I'd love to go, I'll most likely be spending most of my weekends on my project so that I may eventually join you all on these trips!

Dee and I have been talking about this and I have a few friends that would love to come too. Unfortunately, October 23rd won't work for me. That is our anniversary and we are planning on a Spain/Morocco trip. If it is a different date, count us in!

I just sent off an email to Rod to make sure this weekend will be good with him, and the following weekend as an alternate.

I can't believe that you wouldn't cancel a trip to Spain(heck, that's always gonna be there) for a trip to Caveman Ranch with your Buddies  Could probably even arrange for the "Honeymoon" cave for the 2(or 3) of ya.
Anyways, sorry you won't be able to make it, Happy Anniversary to you and Dee

This place sounds like a really unique destination. Due to their anti dog policy guess I'm out. Have a brittany that rides, flies and has lived with me for 7 years so we'll find another place to fly to this fall. Your dog is always your friend no matter what happens.

Every now and then you have to hang up the bush pilot saddle and take your lady somewhere traditionally romantic and exotic. Spain and Morocco sounds like a great trip! Gary will always be here for you, margarita in hand.

Actually, if Cory got me a seat on the plane and a room, I'd bring the margs to Spain for him and Dee, and catch the spring flyin.
