Atlee dodge vs. Lakevue jump seats

Have you modified your aircraft? STC? STOL Kit? Major rebuild from just a data plate?

Re: Atlee dodge vs. Lakevue jump seats

The Atlee Dodge seats are easily adjusted fore and aft a good ways. Actually fairly comfortable, at least as airplane back seats go.

You're absolutely right, but at least having one along is better than not having one along.
I just figure that if you're gonna buy a cushion, it might as well serve double-duty if possible.

FWIW it could be moved up to about 7" further aft, but you'd have to:
1) remove the stop screw from the (tubular) side rail, &
2) drill another hole for the locking-pin in the Cessna style seat rail.

Thanks, I will compare against mine, but i have a widebody and my bench seats are a fair amount farther aft I believe. Still good to know. I will be at the airport Tuesday and will post my dimension.

Re: Atlee dodge vs. Lakevue jump seats

As I recall, the bench seats in my 170 & 180 had the leading edge just about even with the leading edge of the aft door post--
an inch or two forward of where my BAS seat's leading edge is.
However, I think the bench seat bottom is longer fore-and-aft,
so the backrest is at least as far back or maybe farther back than this 14-1/2" dimension.

Awesome thank you... I will be at the airport on Wednesday now and will take some measurements.

Re: Atlee dodge vs. Lakevue jump seats

Very nice, Ben!
When I looked at the first photo, I thought
"Wow, that's plush! And they even have cup holders!
But how do they fold?"

BTW you need to buy a red bungee to match your airplane.
One thing that's always bugged me is that neither the BAS or Atlee Dodge seat kits
include anything to keep the seats up in the stowed position.
For what they charge, they should at least throw in a bungee!

Wow this is exactly what I wanted to see. I have been unable to get to the hangar to get the measurements since my son has had a cold and I had to pull him out of daycare. I think my mind is made up on the Lakevue seats and likely with similar cushions. Now if I do that I woudl change my seat color and this may lead me down the rabbit hole of new front seats to match..

Ha, I know Eric. I don’t even have a cup holder up front. I need to figure that out!

Yea, you gotta love the token cheap bungee cord associated with the lake view seats.

Re: Atlee dodge vs. Lakevue jump seats

Maybe build a center console between the seats and add a pop out cupholder. Its on my list of to dos and I have a laser cutter so will likely make it out of black plexiglass. Its a bit low on the priority list however.

Re: Atlee dodge vs. Lakevue jump seats

FWIW pricing....
Atlee Dodge jump seats -- $1965 per side or $3795 for the pair
https://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/ ... gChair.php
Dodge website has a lower price but is dated 2015, so I dunno if it's current.
http://www.fadodge.com/removable-folding-jump-seats/

LakeVue Aeronautics jump seats -- $1500 each or $2750 for the pair.
Might need a $250 seat belt attach kit though.

Re: Atlee dodge vs. Lakevue jump seats

I'm installing the LakeVue seats in my 182 next week. Anyone find a good solution to adding tie down points to the seat rails? What cargo net are the 182 guys using?

Re: Atlee dodge vs. Lakevue jump seats

I acquired some "saf-t-stops" in a horsetrade, and use them for cargo rings on the cessna seat rails.

I think Atlee Dodge sells seat rail rings also.

Cargo nets:

Lots of guys seem to like the Mountain Wave cargo nets.
They're nice but kinda spendy.

http://mountainwaveaviation.com/

I bought a 23.5" x 23.5" cargo net from Safari Straps, it was quite a bit cheaper than Mountain Wave but sturdy & well made.

A number of different sizes used to be available.
Unfortunately it looks like they only offer one size in two different versions now.

Re: Atlee dodge vs. Lakevue jump seats

Those of you with Atlee seats, what is the thickness of the seat pan and seat back? I’m guessing .015. Doesn’t need to be thick and that seems like it would be the lightest option but still be steel so that they could be welded…..

Thanks
