Grassstrippilot's Flying Adventures

Heeding Zane's advice, I'm starting my own thread showing the small trips and day flights we do that don't warrant their own dedicated thread. And what not a better way to start than to show the great day I had yesterday flying with friends to celebrate my birthday!

We met up early in the morning in the cold with Allen and Stan Macbean and Ryan Krisman (Rezdog), and had a great time exploring the area around the Great Salt Lake.

Allen and Stan's grand entry.

What a great day of flying with friends. Short of Dee and the kids being there, you can't get better than that! And I got to try out my birthday present from Dee...a Stratus antenna!

Nice. It's good to see you getting rezdog out for some fun. He needs to get some air under his tail once in a while!

Grassstrippilot's Flying Adventures

Great pics Allen. I always enjoy seeing what my untrained eye didn't see or not didn't know to look for. Right after you mentioned doing a 360 to get a shot, I noticed how cool the sun and cloud reflection was on the water. I just missed it. You can kind of see it.

A short fuel run today on which I introduced Tyler to positive and negative Gs...all of which he was doing himself. Pushing and pulling with all his might![emoji1]

Well, if one has to go back to work after 3 weeks off, I suppose this is a small consolation prize. The sunrise that greeted me back to work.

Re: Grassstrippilot's Flying Adventures

Happy New Year everyone!

It was such a good start to 2015 so we did it again. We met up with Allen and Stan to visit a friend's private strip and to grab some lunch in Afton. -13 when we got there, -5 when we left. Last year was the last trip we did with Noreen, so while she was missed, I like to think she got a kick out of us doing it again and is glad some new memories were made.

Image
Both courtesy cars wouldn't start so, just like last year, a walk was in order to get food.

Image
Food options were better this year. Instead of frozen burritos, we had corn chowder, homemade rolls, and hot chocolate.

Image
It was cold enough Dee's hair got a little frosted on the walk back.

Back to the barn. Family, friends, and flying. What better way to start the year?
