Did you fly somewhere cool, take photos, and feel like telling the tale to make us drool from the confines of our offices? Post them up!

Nice Cory! That's what it's all about. Nice work!
Shearer is a favorite, but I still haven't made it into Fish Lake. Seems like I'm always either too late (snow) or too early (snow/wet) #-o Some day...

I think you took off from Shearer just minutes before my Dad and I landed there, was a great week in the backcountry.

Grass... Looks like some excellent "bonding" time – something he (and you) will never forget. Love seeing posts like this!

Were you in the plane coming down from the Moose Creek area? I told a plane about a 185 coming out of there. Sorry to have missed you.

Re: Grassstrippilot's Flying Adventures

Got to love those days that are only made possible by having a plane. We woke up early yesterday morning to fly up to Oakley, Idaho to go fishing with my dad. Also on the agenda was to look at some rock at a quarry my cousin owns. I needed a capstone for the fire pit I am finishing. When I saw the stone and liked it, I gave the green light. So, while we were fishing and riding the four wheelers around Oakley Reservoir, they were cutting and firing the stone. We picked it up later that afternoon, threw a couple hundred pounds of stone in the back, and flew home. A great day!

Now just to attach the stone and it will be done.

Looks like a bountiful mission.

Way to go Adam! Congrats on those nice trout, but I especially like the pic of you showing your dad how to check the Weight and Balance on your tablet!

Re: Grassstrippilot's Flying Adventures

It’s been a while since I’ve posted on this thread and thought I ought to wipe some of the dust off.

This spring I took my plane up to Willie at Stene Aviation and had him out the Sportsman STOL on it. I’ve been pretty impressed with the results. This last week I took the plane up to Idaho and got to play with it a bit and put it through the paces. I’m still learning to fly this new wing but it definitely climbs harder, produces more lift, flies slower and is more stable at low speeds.

I was able to get a few flying friends together and we went up to JC for a few nights. After decades of flying up there, I finally got to Root Ranch for breakfast. Beautiful spot.
