Check it out, the LED Nav/strobes are now TSO'd and a direct replacement for you Nav light bulb. I'm hoping these will be good quality. It's a nice light, cheap alternative to wingtip power supplies. I don't expect them to be as bright as true strobes but I didn't have to sell my children to buy them! Has anyone else used these? I'll give a pirep as soon as I get them installed.

The new STCd Whelen LED strobe/nav combos dont require power supplies. They run off the regular nav power. Look pretty nice.

The reviews on Aircraft Spruce are all excellent If this product works as good as advertised, it will be incredible. I already purchased both LED taxi/landing lights that will go in my airplane next week.

Is not strobing at the same time just something that annoys you or is it more than that? My tip strobes don't flash at the same time but I didn't think it mattered. Just wondering

The left light would be solid, the right light and tail light would be strobing or vise versa, or some other combination. They would be nice if they all did the same thing when you wanted them to.

Thats interesting Rob. Could you pull the one thats acting different out and cycle the other two once to get them in sync?

Theoretically if you shut them off for longer than about 5 seconds, they're supposed to revert to solid when you next turn them on, and then if you shut them off and turn them on within 3 seconds, they're all supposed to flash. But heck, my computer, my smarter-than-me phone, practically everything I own with any kind of circuitry in it, doesn't always do what it's supposed to do. BTW, my Aeroflash strobes have separate power supplies, so they don't flash together, either. It's never bothered me, other than in clouds, when I shut them off anyway.

I think the most effective "anti-collision" lights would not only flash at different times, but randomly as well. You want them to be as unnatural as possible to help catch other pilots eyes.

I've noticed LED and HID pulse lights to be very noticeable since they "snap" off and on, not sort of ramp up and down like halogens.

I pulled the one out that was acting up as they were running, put it back in and got it to synchronize with the others. After I turned the lights off and shut off the master, I tried turning them on again and got the same problem. I've read other forums with people having the same problem.

My pacer didn't have a beacon or strobes when I bought it, just pos lights, so I picked up a set of these and they work great. I'm not sure if I'm technically legal for night vfr since the pos lights are off for a second between strobe bursts. I'm sure as hell not gonna ask the FAA though. Better to beg for forgiveness.

I have the exact ones in the link in my Cessna 140 and couldn't be happier. I also changed to an LED landing light and running all the lights on at all times is no issue with my generator now. I can barely detect the ammeter moving when I turn everything on. I'd have a discharged battery running all lights on landing with my previous setup. I also had the strobing at different times problem also....as the tail would strobe when the others were solid and vise versa, but fixed it by removing the tail light and installing it again in sync with the others. These are so much brighter than the old bulb type also.

These look awesome. Mine are ordered. Are there any similar LED options available for a decent price as far as PMA'd rotating beacon replacements? I have the old two lamp gear driven voltage drawing monster.

I havent seen the beacon replacement. I replaced mine with a whelen strobe. It looks like the led strobe/navs are on backorder, so here I wait!

My maule has whelen wing tip strobes, so I always thought a tail light/ strobe would be a good idea. Seen this post and ordered the led nav strobe light. put it in today very happy with how it works. bright and either stays on or strobe.what ever you chose. just plug and play sweet

Nav strobes seem very good just wondering if it's worth it to replace the rotating beacon behind the cockpit with a LED strobe/beacon. And what would be legal or adequate? I would like to keep it as inexpensive as practical. I have a flashing red on the belly now. Advice is greatly appreciated.

I know there is a minimum requirement, but would like to be ahead of the curve as far as being visible in low light conditions.

Just put in the sextant nav strobes. They are so bright it is hard to look at them when it's dark. I think they'll be a good safety upgrade. Can't wait to see how they are during the day.

Mine just showed up from spruce yesterday after being on backorder for a month. Hopefully ill get them i stalled this weekend and maybe take a quick video. Glad to hear youre happy with them!
