Lurker, haven't been lurking as much as I'd like to.
I'm Matt recently relocated my welding business to this Edgewater Fl airport.
I'll weld what ever needs to be welded but my main stay for the last 12 years has been boat tops and towers out of anodized aluminum.
Almost all custom one off jobs.

Re: Lurkers - Come Out Come Out Wherever You Are...

I'm a long timeish lurker. Just got my private pilot license about 9 months ago.

I got about 150 hours now with 80 of that in my Stinson 108-3.

Live in BC, I am an AME m and s licensed.

Been involved in aviation almost my entire life. My dad ran a skydiving center for the first half of my life.

I do land at a couple of my buddies farms, which is about as back country as I've gotten so far.

This next year I want to fly up to some back woods strips and do some camping.. Thinking skookumchuck, and dog creek, type places.

I want to go out with some people that have flown and landed on the gravel bars etc before I go myself.

Anyways back to lurking for a little bit

Mike

Re: Lurkers - Come Out Come Out Wherever You Are...

Hi all. My name is Kevin and I live in Georgia. I have been a "lurker"/dreamer for a couple of years now! We do have many nice grass strips around the Southeast however they are not as back country as most of you are used to. I fly a Stinson 108-3 that is basically stock. I have been involved in aviation professionally for the last 24 years as a maintenance technician for a major airline. I also work on general aviation planes on the side to pay for my flying habit! I have been fortunate enough to put my hands on everything from experimental a/c,J-3 Cubs, and Barons, to DC-3 all the way up to B-747 and B-777s.(and just about everything in between). Love the aviation lifestyle!! I look forward to being able to put faces with some of the names at a future date.

Hey Kevin! Welcome board!

BTW, I'm missing some charts in my Airside kit and my MEL'd grimes light isn't working... #-o Do you know Pat Hadley by any chance? He just retired recently - we're on the Ski Team together. I look forward to seeing pics of your Stinson on here - and see you on the line!

Very nice ghan!
I use tapatalk on my phone and it makes posting pictures real easy, at least if they are pics taken with your phone.

Yes, I, too, am a lurker. I've been told the first step toward recovery is to admit you have a problem... And I just got my first post out of the way.

Re: Lurkers - Come Out Come Out Wherever You Are...

Another lurker here, I'm on the Texas Coast flying my Cub out of Bay City. I grew up surrounded by aviation, spending my young years in the back seat of my Dad's 172 while he was a CFI working his way up to becoming a 737 pilot, and an uncle who flew C5's in the Air Force. Neither were involved in or have shown much interest in GA, but I never forgot how much fun flying with my Dad was and I set a goal for us to do that again. I got my PPL after thinking I'd get into crop dusting, but made the mistake of going for a ride in a Cub when I first started taking lessons. That was the best flying ever, and decided as long as I kept a job where I could afford a Cub, that's all I would need. I bought my own two weeks later and it's been downhill ever since. Learned a lot from scouring this site, great information on every tab. Also met Barnstormer not too long ago, a great guy to talk to that's full of flying knowledge.

Looking to add a 170 or 180 to the hangar this year, and slowly putting together mental plans for a Super Cub "brush" plane. That's probably 4-5 yrs out, I need more shop space before starting that.
