11 days until the fly in. Joyce is busy with menu prep and shopping. I am in the middle of stripping and painting a 182, as soon as I have a brake I will get the place ready, rig up a shower, set up the tents, mow the grass, etc... We are excited to have you guys come visit.

If you are bringing your wife, our little town of East Berlin is having there Colonial days on Saturday, Streets are closed and all kinds of vendors set up with everything that make a wife smile.

I am still open for suggestions for activities.

There is a fly in lunch at Clearview airport just south of Westminster MD on Saturday the 10th.. That would be a nice fly out for us from my place. It is only 30 or so miles south of us. My brother and I went last year and enjoyed it a bunch. We bought the Champ while we were there.The runway is paved but has a decent slope to it and is only about 1800' long. Fun place to fly into.

The out door shower is almost finished, We worked on it all day today. We are going to do some flying tonight then finish it up tomorrow. It has a 30 gal hot water heater so long showers will screw the next guy in line.

I hope somebody is coming to use it.

We finished the shower, It is very functional but not very glamorous.

I have been busy today getting the place ready.

They are supposed to pour the floor in our new hangar tomorrow. They have been saying that for 6 weeks now. I'll believe it when I see it. Hopefully it will be ready for the weekend. If not, I have a few tents I can set up for shade and to eat under.

I'm unable to fly down, so I'll be driving. I'm aiming to get there Friday evening unless something comes up, in which case I'll get there early Saturday morning.

Sorry to be late to the party but I was waiting for weather and a couple of other items to firm up. I can't get out of work early enough to head out Friday night but will fly down Sat. morning. It's looking like about 3.5 hrs. from 0NY0 so I should be there by noon. If you guys are out flying I'll see you when you get back. I'm hoping that my wife will be able to attend and will know that by tomorrow. I look forward to meeting you guys.

I just put up a new windsock. The wind sock is located 1000' from the end of runway 33 on the East side.

They finished the cement floor in our new hangar today, They tell me I can put the planes and light equipment in there tomorrow evening.

We got the Army tent up and we have a couple of other tents we will be puting up. There will be plenty of shade, a few large fans, and plenty of cold water to drink. ( ice cold beer if you are done flying for the day)

The wife made me get some nice block to biuld a new fire pit, It looks good, probably to hot to have much of a fire.

No one will go hungry, Joyce has the food situation under control, She always takes very good care of our guests.

Tomorrow will be another day of setting stuff up and getting ready, Hamburgers and hot dogs tomorrow evening starting at 6pm. We hope a bunch of you guys show up.

Im sorry I can't make it this time, we had all intentions of flying out but life happened and pressing family obligations came up. I'm sure this weekend will be a good time for you guys and I hope to get a chance to meet up with some North East BCP'ers hopefully in the near future, maybe a 2nd Annual Get Together. Regards Bob

Love the Maule's. It will be the first one to land here since the 1970's.

Young Ian (18 years old) was the first Back Country Pilot to show up. He drove down from NY. We will make sure he gets some stick time in all our planes. Only had 2 planes showed up tonight, local guys. There is a chance that there might be 3 Stearmans here tomorrow and an Oshkosh Grand champion Waco. I have had several private mesages from people on here that will be here tomorrow.

Plenty of shade and large fans to keep you cool, See you guys tomorrow.
