Re: OregonMaule Destinations: January 2013 socal and Arizona

Rob / Gary, since you will be going to Alamo from Red Creek this time, (opposite of the last trip) you should consider flying up the Santa Maria to Sycamore creek which joins the Verde outside of Sedona. At cub speeds if you have breakfast at Alamo you can lunch at SEZ and then follow the Verde back around to Red Creek. This makes for a pretty good day of flying. With some spectacular scenery this time of the year...cublite Pat has been on that one but as I recall we got to see several airplane headstands performed that day  #-o

It just occurred to me that Gary prolly knows that area as good as anyone.... #-o

Take care, Rob

Gary, me and Lee are coming to Sedona for lunch Saturday. What time will you arrive?

We just got back from Cave Creek and lunch at the Buffalo Saloon.

I got us a heaping wheel barrow load of dry fire wood for Red Creek camp fire. I think we will need it. Got 50 rounds of 45ACP and 30 rounds of 22Mag only got 20 rounds of 357Mag. Why do I have so many guns???

Weather is great but COOL!

Cheers...Rob

I'm plannin on bein outa here around 8. Gonna stop at St.John and put up a poster for the Chubster, and the same at Winslow. May be there between noon and 1??? I can call from St. John if ya want. There is a real cool restaurant at Winslow (La Pasada)if ya wanna meet there. Winslow is the last of the Lindburg airports, as I understand.

Rob,

sent this to Gary from my phone a couple hours ago. The red line you drew from UDD to GEU passed just south of it. I can't imagine not shooting a few of these on the way to /from Alamo?

Off to Winslow.

Well, I'm a standing on a corner
in Winslow, Arizona
and such a fine sight to see
It's a girl, my Lord, in a flatbed
Ford slowin' down to take a look at me
Come on, baby, don't say maybe
I gotta know if your sweet love is
gonna save me

I dropped into Red Creek in case you guys were still there today. Nobody around but I got there kind of late and wasn't surprised. That place is starting to get a little trashy. I picked up a bag of trash while I was there, mostly brass. With the price of ammo these days, you'd think guys would pick it up. Anyway, sorry I missed you.
