I picked up a bag of trash while I was there, mostly brass. With the price of ammo these days, you'd think guys would pick it up. Anyway, sorry I missed you.

SATURDAY JANUARY 12, 2013
Hey Wayne: I flew right over the top and did a circle at 6500MSL. It was about 3:30PM. I was on the way back to Glendale with a friend who isn't into mountain dirt yet.

We had a great lunch at La Pasada. Neat spot, and lots of history. Right on Route 66.
Good call Gary!
The airport was founded and paid for in 1929 by Howard Hughes Transcontinental Air Transport as a transcontinental air route for Hughe's aircraft company (later TWA). The airport was paid for by Howard Hughes and designed by Charles Lindbergh while on his honeymoon. Lindbergh stayed at the La Posada in Winslow
Eagles song Take it Easy talks about Winslow.
A few snow showers on the way to Winslow. Cold outside, 10* at 8500
Lee and Gary (shortfielder) ready for lunch.
Seeing the famous spot
Cheers...Rob
