Nice, Rob. Bet you're used to an MS-460 Rescue saw with a carbide chain. We keep one around for this kind of stuff, and it's always coming in useful. Old turnouts have saved me from myself a time or two also.

Some of the possible happenings. Street bike ride with M7flyer, flying to Giant Rock, Bacon Strip, Chicken Strip, Lake Wohlford food run, Hemet Ryan food run.

For sure flying to Glendale Muni, Az. Doing the Barrett-Jack Collector Car Auction January 13-20.

While in Az. probably hit Red Creek and Payson

The boy and his friends may come down with the truck, trailer, quads, street bikes. If he does we'll go out to the Glamis sand dunes for a few days.

Anyway hope to see some of you guys from the area too. Last year I had the pleasure of spending time with some of you boys. Rob, Brian, Dale, Gary, Scott, Ken, Russ, Dave, Little Pat, Big Pat, Dee, Sandy. Don't know how much I'll do or who I'll see, but it should be fun.

Cheers...Rob

The wx is looking sunny Wednesday thru Friday. I think I'll be flying down some or all of the days to do some more plumbing and electrical.

If anyone wants to do lunch give me a call or text

Re: OregonMaule Destinations: Socal&Arizona 1/4-19/2013

The weather is looking good for departure this Saturday or Sunday Jan 4-5. I plan a stop in Yerington, Nv. for gas and then camp at the Chicken Strip. Might be meeting up Allen Macbean at Chicken Sunday.

Anyone who wants to join in or propose a meeting for food during this trip lets hear your ideas. I'm open. Probably do some breakfast runs in Socal. Hemet and Big Bear.

Probably camp a night at Red Creek when I get to Arizona. Probably do breakfast at Alamo Lake one day.

Cheers...Rob

Let us know when you go to red creek, perhaps we'll meet you down there. Me and the lads from newmex that is!
I just flew over that strip a few weeks back, looks sweet. Didn't have time to land though.

Re: OregonMaule Destinations: Socal&Arizona 1/4-19/2013

Hi Rob:

We have a work party going into Red Creek this weekend (Jan 4). They are hoping to get the approach end smoothed out and take some of the ruts out that are making if somewhat challenging when departing.

There will be a couple of planes and two ground vehicles at the airstrip, and would welcome some additional help. Try to make it if you can.

All righty then. I told the wife I was leaving Saturday. She didn't even give me the look or lecture on how she has to work and stuff. (She is a keeper) Look at the these forecast winds Saturday at 12K
Image
Forecast is no fog. glidergeek I should be wheels up at 8AM. One stop, maybe two. I should be at Chicken easy by 2PM

ICEMAN, amacbean, bigjohn, 172heavy and pacerpilot this is for y'all too. Calling all you High Sierra Flyers. Sac valley boys. I know I missed someone. But you get the idea. Your all invited.

Heck it is a weekend, sunny, light wind, and highs, 66°-74° Low 36°-40° . What more could you want for winter camping.
