Mine was s/n 15060430, N4430U.
A guy from Spokane bought it in 2014.
He painted it yellow and black, here's what it looked like when I owned it.

onefitty wrote:Here's a few pics of a ramp mummy (ramp baby?) rescue... This one sat outside for years until I bought it from NZ's equivalent of ebay. Half a day's work, an oil change, fuel and a fresh battery and away we went complete with mold, moss and a couple thousand spiders. I've been flying it for around 5 years now and recently gave it a birthday. It's a hoot to fly and I've got a Sportsman kit to go on at some stage. More hp would be good but I quite like the O-200

Only 4 years old in 1968!

It sat outside at Ardmore for some years. It's amazing what can grow on and in a plane!

Finally back in a hangar

Fortunately the engine had been inhibited and cylinders weren't too rusted

Stop for fuel on the way home

A bit of work and an Annual Inspection later

Early this year we finally found time to clean up the corrosion, tidy the paint and add some racing stripes

I assume that it goes faster with Cirrus red racing stripes?

Nice 150 Mr Hotrod! A 180 always feels so solid and easy after flying my 150TD...

Yep, the Cirrus Red adds a guaranteed 5 knots and drops fuel burn a couple litres as well! I highly recommend it 8)

Re: Photo thread: Ramp Mummies

There's an old 206 sitting on the north GA ramp in Boise, it's been there for at least 5 years. Kinda temped to see if I can waste all my money on it

Re: Photo thread: Ramp Mummies

If the one at Boise isn't for sale, there's another 206 on the ramp at Caldwell that's been slowly sinking into the asphalt for abut 20 years. You could probably sink even more money into it.

Not sure this counts Zzz. (Move if it doesn't belong here.)
It was a while ago, but this Beech 18 ( MIl C-45 ) is quite famous. N6065V near Beatty NV.

More of a wreck than a ramp mummy, but still cool.
The tail says "YOLO DZ", and refers to Yolo California Drop Zone, ( Just West of Sacramento Ca. )

N6065Z has been moved. It now sits in the parking lot of a brothel at the north edge of Beatty and is covered in graffiti.

Parking lot? Hmmm. I found it while driving on the hwy and pulled over on the side of the road to take the pic. The buildings are quite a ways off the road, as you can see. Why would you have ever driven so far back off the hwy to the parking.....oh, I see.

I'm just joking Dale.

Re: Photo thread: Ramp Mummies

This 180 shares a city hangar with my Tri-Pacer at KMAN. Hasn't moved since I've been there. I always feel a little down that such a capable airframe sits and waits...

Re: Photo thread: Ramp Mummies

I know of two different 180's which have sat for at least 10 years without flying-- one next door to my hangar, and one next door to my buddy's hangar at another airport. Neither is in the advanced state of decay that that one is, but it's still a shame that they're not out there getting flown and providing joy to someone.

It's the little things that always catch my attention. Someone cared about that plane once. Even though it's in a hangar, someone put a cowl cover, wing covers and complete window covers on that plane. Then never came back...

Looking really good!
I had a similar one, a C150D, but with a Lyc 320.
Mine was s/n 60430, how far off from yours is it?

Re: Photo thread: Ramp Mummies

I think it's a 185, looks like the big dorsal.
I always find myself wondering what the story is behind these left overs.

Re: Photo thread: Ramp Mummies

Late model 180's (not sure which year it started) have the big tail like a 185.
