If your not living on the edge, you're taking up too much space.

Welcome Nick.

Thanks 58Skylane. She really is not a backcountry bird. I usually don't take her anywhere I can't get to with my truck and trailer. Rotorways have a bad habit of breaking down at the most inopportune times.

Skystrider, Is this fly-in open to pilots not on the forum? I know a couple of chopper and UL guys in the area that are always looking for places to fly and camp.

Hi Nick, I am organizing this primarily for the Backcountry Pilots but I am sure there will be room for a couple more!

I look forward to meeting you Tim and all the other folks coming!

Any preferences for movie night? Maybe the latest "Big Rocks and Long Props" or "Fly Idaho"?

May at 50PA

Sounds great, count me in. I’m looking for an excuse to take The Blue Dog somewhere.
Almost too close to 2n2 to count as cross country.

Welcome Steve! See you just joined BCP. Been a lurker for awhile? And what kind of plane is The Blue Dog?

So far we have about 15 to 20 people coming. I have lined up the buffet breakfast for Sunday morning and the keg of beer is reserved for Saturday night!

There is a large fire ring and I will make sure there is a stack of wood for Friday and Saturday night. Three months to go!

Make sure to bring your BackcountryPilot.org t-shirts!

Hey, the Poconos, sounds great, never been there. Weather cooperating I think I shall show up in my C180. Way to far for the J-3.

Backcountry Fly-In

I'm a newbie to this group. I found your website and saw Skystrider's fly-in announcement.

It turns out the Sciota, PA fly-in is a half-hour from my airport.

I have a stock Cessna 150G, not exactly a classic bush plane; but I'm adventurous and have a whole lot of fun finding and landing on grass! :D

Business took me to Idaho for several months about 15 years ago and I can see why you folks out there jealously guard it from the crazies who would turn everything into a nature museum. I envy you.

However this part of the country has its charm too. The rolling hills and Appalachian Mountains aren't as high but they're just as magnificent from the air.

I fly with a group of PA pilots who are fond of finding new and interesting destinations, preferably with food nearby. So we already have a lot in common.

I'll be around. Have fun and fly safe! :)
