Just finished drywall tape/mud and paint #-o ...now it's time to decorate  . There is a small fridge on right hand wall, though, and it's stocked. So, if you're in BZN.....otherwise known as Bozeman Yellowstone Regional Airport at Gallatin Field (located in Belgrade, MT  ) drop in.

This is in a "hangar condominium", so it's all mine, no rent..... :D . Heated, winch in the back....and a pretty little Cub...Life is good.

Ahh... such a cute little cub!! Looks like it has an AOSS landing system. Good job on the sheet rock (one of the least fun projects).

Good looking hangar -- now to clutter it up!

Have fun.

Re: Show us your HANGAR!

When I bought my Husky a few years back, I hangared it in Wasilla for the first winter. The hangar could accommodate four airplanes that were parked tail-to-tail on a motorized turntable. Thus you just needed to hit a switch to swing your airplane to the front of the hangar so that you could roll it out and go flying. There was a winch in the center of the carousel mounted on a swivel that allowed you to pull your plane back into the hangar at the end of your flight.

Pictured below is my Husky along with the three other planes tethered tail-to-tail. It didn't make the best use of hangar space, but it was great for several active fliers if you didn't want to roll out a bunch of other plans to get to yours. Photobomb is my sons Golden Retriever.

Re: Show us your HANGAR!

Not as nice as what a lot of youse guys have. But it has a roof, door, an electrical outlet, and the water/ice is only rarely more than an inch deep...

That's my wing removal helper standing there (oldest daughter).

Is that one on top of the slab..??

We built ours into the floor so stuff can be parked in between the airplanes and there is nothing to trip over... Still need to get better pictures...

No AOSS...just standard Cub gear fairings. I think the angle makes it look symmetrical.

Re: Show us your HANGAR!

Mike,

Great setup and great looking 11. I have an insulated heated T-Hangar like yours that is drywalled and painted. I too have a fridge. I bought a carpet remnant and have a couch and chairs under the right wing tip which makes a great "hang out". I bet you have some great pictures and decor to hang on the walls. Post more pictures when you are done.

Re: Show us your HANGAR!

We cut a 1/2 acre of trees, spent days with a tracked excavator, 2- tri-axel trucks hauled dirt and a D7 pushed a mountain of earth, in order to make a flat place for our lake hangar. The hangar is 50 wide X 40 deep X 16 tall, it has a 48 ft Schweiss hydraulic door, with a 14 ft sliding door on the side. There is a rail system for the plane and a second rail system for the boat (it fits under the wing of the C185F). We installed a double truss over the plane cabin area for a winch, in order to be able to lift the plane for change over.

Re: Show us your HANGAR!

OK Mike, you win! Not for your airport hangar, but for your lake hangar! That is very cool. =D>

It reminds me of a residential airstrip in Idaho I saw at Lake Pend Oreille: a turf strip out the front of the hangars, and the lake behind. Most of the hangars had doors at both ends, one of the neatest airparks I've ever seen, kind of funky also, not super high dollar anyway.

I actually dont get much spray up onto my wings. The strut and horizontal are usually the dirtiest, but a nice flight in the rain, or just a good rain shower on the ground usually take care of that pretty good.
