Seems like a good assumption floats are in the equation. If not by Vans then certainly by one of the builders,Image
people love to push the envelope in the experimental category.

That's because it is a Whitman Tailwind, but I'm guessing you knew that...

When was the last time you heard of Van's "buying a design"?

Interesting read for sure. Used to he a member on here that had one and really liked it. Wish he was still around to give us a PIREP after a lot of hrs flying.
Still very curious to see what Vans comes out with!

Lynn, AKA Dirtstrip was a great guy. I miss his posts.

Searching for him this morning took me down a rabbit hole of "pilots gone west" threads. Ugh.

Always thought the Tundra was a neat bird. Seriously considered that as my build for a while.

Yes Lynn missed for sure. I was thinking about the mountie up in the Yukon though. He had a nice white and blue Tundra.

Re: Vans RV-15

There are strong rumors out there in The Internet that a recently assigned registration number, N415XV, is in fact the RV-15.

https://registry.faa.gov/aircraftinquiry/Search/NNumberResult

If any Y'all are near Aurora Oregon it would be great to get a sneak peak. Certainly they're not flying it only at night like the Lockheed Skunkworks...

Anybody with nothing better to do but hang by the airport fence?

That is sad to see.

I really wanted the Tundra to be a good airplane, in fact we almost bought a kit instead of the Bearhawk.

All I can say is, wow. I am pleased I bought the Bearhawk and not a Tundra.
