Where did you fly today?

Did you fly somewhere cool, take photos, and feel like telling the tale to make us drool from the confines of our offices? Post them up!

GT, your pitot tube's a little rusty. :) Cool pic.

Photos have to be less than 1,024 pixels wide to be embedded (to protect the poor dialup guys.)

Really? Maybe it has something to do with heat conductivity. Is it heated?

Flew to Pueblo for some breakfast with my friend and his daughter who is home for the holidays. Perfect weather, smooth as glass.

Re: Where did you fly today?

Did a little flying over in the Moab area the other day. Great day out. Very pretty with the snow on the red rocks.

On the way over, I flew a little ways into LA Plata Canyon, then over by a buddy's cabin in Echo Basin. This flying is around 10,000', and about 10* outside air temp.

Flew out into eastern Colorado today. Set up for approach but wasn't sure about the runway condition so I side stepped and decided to do a "Go around". You are suppose to go to full power right? Image

Re: Where did you fly today?

In trying to keep up my streak of flying since Christmas Eve I headed up to Longmont to pick up my good friend Andy and head over to Greely for some lunch at the Barnstormer. Unfortunately for us it was closed so we went and hung out with some Air National Guard troops at the unit he is a 1st Lt with. Some really cool people. Ended up giving the major he works with a ride in my skywagon. He use to fly KC-135's then lear jets. Was good to get him in the air again. Dropped my buddy off back at Longmont and headed home. Was get some crazy lift off the foothills southwest of Boulder, around 1700pfm at times. Overall a great trip.

Why Eads and Las Animas you may ask? Had to bag them. I plan to try to hit as many new (to me) airports as I can this year.

Well, it was a great day here in SW Colo.

Had my dad over for b'fast, then headed to the hangar to get the birds out.

Did local flyn, buzzin some friends, checkin out some ruins, tryin the new mount setup on my video camera. Stopped at the Navajo Dam strip in NM. Got first tracks in the powder :D . Got some snow pics for next years Christmas cards. Had a little snack, and back to the barn.

My dad is 81 with his own 180, flys it 1-2/wk, so that cool. Been flyin over 60 years. =D> =D>

A good day =D> =D>

Re: Where did you fly today?

A failed attempt to go flying yesteryear.

I dug out the hanger, but the maintenance man didn't plow the strip and the drifts were just a little more than I wanted to experiment with. So it was a morning spent tooling around the hanger. Kinda a shame cause it was a damn fine morning to be up.
