I've read the help section and if I put in the address to where this image is held on my blog then it just leaves a link to my blog. I want the picture to show up right here so you don't have to leave to view it. Sorry for posting a question in a forum ... I'm no good at forums, too many buttons, that's why I fly a cub.

You nearly had it. The syntax is this:

I wish we could have met up, its a real bummer. But now you know what I look like...you can't miss me with the new paint job! :D

I did see the rescue team, I was in the Pelican eating lunch at the time. Talk about a huge response...

Damn, that is funny. Small world is right.

And I ate there too! Good place, maybe have to stay over one night so I can have a few of the beers they make! :)

Re: Where did you fly today?

Short flight up to Woodland (W27). A C-185 was landing at Daybreak so I stopped by there to see if it was BCP'er. Nope, but he was interested in the site. Flies out of Cedars.
Daybreak was a little soft, not bad but took a fair amount of power to get taxiing. What a great strip, though. It's a real treasure to have a place like that to land so close.

Earlier in the day I'd chatted with one of the instructors at Pearson. She mentioned she had seen Green Mountain airstrip (2000' paved strip just north of 1W1) listed a while back for 1.1 mil. I think it's off the market now since land values tanked. Seems like a pretty good price for an airstrip if the numbers are correct. Be a shame if some non-aviation developer bought it.

Warroad, landing on skis on the river for pancake breakfast. Beautiful day, about +2 F here when we left, and +15 in Warroad when we got there. They had 30 airplanes fly in for the breakfast. What a great day....not a bump, sunny and relatively warm, and NO WIND>>>>>> :D

Snuck in a short flight up the Bijou Basin after work tonight. Pretty cool sunset although the picture didn't turn out well. Sure was a lot of haze in the air.

Kinda surprised that Daybreak is open-- I understand that some years the strip is cmpletely submerged. It must have been a pretty dry winter down your way.

Re: Where did you fly today?

Flew down to Meadowlake and shot some touch and goes, and then swung by Bijou Bottom to see if anyone was there. Bounced my way back home and made it just in time for work. I would have called the 00V folks, but I didn't know I was going there until I called 10 miles out (just cruising aournd). Next time.

Dang Matt, I missed you. I just flew over near your airstrip tonight after work. I was out searching for private airports that pop up on my Garmin Aera GPS. Great evening to fly for sure.

Re: Where did you fly today?

I did another funded Civil Air Patrol (CAP) flight this last week. Although it's volunteer it's still free flying at the end of the flight it was like someone just handed me $200 to go flying it was great!

I shot video in the past with the video function on my camera but I've since gone out and bought a Kodak Zi8 that shoots HD. I'm still getting used to all the settings that I has. The video I shot for this flight was not the best that I think the camera can shoot. The morning shots seem to be fine but the prop wash seems to get really bad later in the day. I'm going to try to mount it in some different locations in the plane and see what works best. Because the shots were so different I didn't edit a nice video I just put some of the raw shots on the web.

Re: Where did you fly today?

After spending pert near a week in Fairbanks getting a "new to me" M-7 annual done finally departed Chena Marina yesterday and made Tok but surface winds of 45 knots in Whitehorse grounded us there. Left Tok this morning in light winds before getting 35 knots on the nose about the Canadian border. 60 mph ground speed made for a slow go. Then the visibility started dropping at Kluane Lake and in the pass just shy of Haines Junction it went solid IFR to the surface. Did an about face and landed at Burwash in hellish 29 knot winds. Got tied down and a ride to the Talbot Arm Motel in Destruction Bay Yukon. Forecast looks better tomorrow. At this pace I am a looong way from Utah  Still tons of fun though :!:

Re: Where did you fly today?

Had my first lesson. Flew from Pitt Meadows to Merritt and back in a 172. 5500' asl there, 6500' back, great weather and a great start to the program. Not exactly backcountry, and nowhere near UtahMaule's oddyssey, but 2.8 hours in the book and I'm on my way!

An oddessey is in the eyes of the beholder!! A first lesson is an experience to remeber!

We departed Burwash and made fuel stops in Whitehorse and Watson Lake and are now cosy in our room at Ft Nelson. Had relentless turbulance, head winds, cross winds, and even a little tail winds =D> With a little help from the weather we should make Cut Bank tomorrow [-o< USA here we come :D
