Did you fly somewhere cool, take photos, and feel like telling the tale to make us drool from the confines of our offices? Post them up!

The guy was bundled up head to toe. Had to be since it was below freezing. Anyhow doughnuts, hot coffee, and some hangar flying had by all. Life is good!

No pics but took my dad up for 1.2 of winter flying around the patch. Beautiful alpenglow in a soft lit winter afternoon in Broad Pass. Only 10F, heat wave!

My wife and I flew out to Steamboat Springs for lunch yesterday. It was a nice day for flying besides the winds, it was painfully slow flying out there but we made it back in record time.... had a ground speed of 180mph at one point!

Re: Where did you fly today?

After changing oil and checking for leaks. No sense in putting it back in the hanger. I could not get the hanger doors open for the last week. A shovel and elbow grease made the doors move. Used 29 at PDT after the plow was through. No wind and clouds at 200ft agl, 2000ft agl and up high. -2c, and no wind. Fog in west but could see Mt Hood, Mt Adams and Mt Rainier over the low clouds. My C 120 used carb heat for most of the 90 minute flight. Still ice on the runway when I got back. Berms on the taxi ways and snow on the ramp. What a nice day. Snow for the next 5 days.

I wanted to get to La Grande today in the worst way, from what I could tell from here it didn't look good over the pass at Meacham?

Re: Where did you fly today?

Sky Harbor was nice enough to let me change my oil in their hangar earlier tonight. After that I went and beat up the pattern for about a half an hour. It was a good night!

Re: Where did you fly today?

We finally got a sunny day. I took the M7 out for an engine/oil exercise. It has been a week since I flew and that is way to long. Practiced some quartering tail wind landings. Worked out pretty good.

WOW the weather guessers were wrong. Sun instead of clouds. Good deal. My boy and I went out for an hour. Wish I was a CFI so I could teach him to fly. Is it illegal to teach or let someone who is not a pilot fly your plane?

Good day

Re: Where did you fly today?

Finished up my annual this afternoon so I just had to give it a test flight. Went to Lebanon for gas. Mogas is $3.55. I told Petenpol69 and bertberry1 that I'd get some info on the Aerocommander parked there, but I was enjoying the day so much I forgot that part. I guess it wasn't on the checklist. Next time guys.

Re: Where did you fly today?

Rob,
No, it's not illegal to let someone who's not a pilot fly your plane. What they can't do is log the time as either dual or PIC. The only time your passengers cant touch the controls is if you are a commercial operator on a flight for hire.

I got out today just to go get petrol at SPB, $3.90/gallon for 100LL. Too bad I didn't hear you out and about, I needed some place to go. Very rough close to the hills today but smooth and calm winds at SPB. A zillion guys beating up the pattern there today. Headed to ZSPD tomorrow, back on the 9th.

Re: Where did you fly today?

Wow, what an awesome weekend of flying for me. My wife had the weekend off so we took full advantage and did a bunch of flying. We did a skywagon formation flight down to Pueblo for lunch with a friend yesterday. They had a great time making fun of me for wanting a super cub. Hahahaha, little did my wife know. After we got back to Meadowlake I drug the Clipped Wing Cub out and took her for he first cub ride. I put her in the front seat and let her fly it. We found the elk herd and circled them a few times. She is now hooked and is in full agreement that we need a Super Cub. Needless to say, she wanted to go fly the cub again today. Who am I to argue so we took it up to Kelly Airpark. She flew it the entire time again with the exception of take-offs and landings. She logged about 1.5 hours of dual in it this weekend. I need to get her a log book since it's a LSA and I'm a CFI. Here are some pics.
