Where did you fly today?

Did you fly somewhere cool, take photos, and feel like telling the tale to make us drool from the confines of our offices? Post them up!

Got my attention!! Don't think I'll be landing there again anytime soon or until they get that mess cleaned off the runway and find the missle launcher.

Flew a couple of circles within an hour of home this weekend. Good reminder of why I choose to live where I do.

Thanks, 58S. My cheap point and click camera, and my photography skills, don't really do it justice but it was a breathtaking flight.

Re: Where did you fly today?

Seeing Dutch John brings back memories of the 180/185 get together in 1993. Also the good looking girl I had along and the raft trip. :D

How was the fishing? I love that country, the John Day is one of my favorite float trips.

Re: Where did you fly today?

Fishing was terrible, but it was a beautiful day. Had to have been 70 degrees with a light wind. Fishing won't really get good until the water warms up on the John Day, but it's fun to try! :D

Re: Where did you fly today?

Logan,
The John Day has primarily small mouth bass and steelhead. I've caught lots of bass (one on almost every cast, when it's good), but never a steelhead. We're having tons of fun with our new Golden Retriever puppy "Aero". He loves to fly 8)

P.S. We miss the food at "The Dean". I swear it's some of the best eatin' we've ever had. What a gem.

Nice music. Great flight. Do we have to look at you? Just kidding. Wished I was there. Boat should be gone tomorrow. I'm robbing the bank on Wednesday. Now that you've rung it out a bit, what kind of cruise are you getting with the S-6?

Re: Where did you fly today?

I am getting 90 to 105 cruise. But I don't run it as fast as most people. I keep the rpms 5200 or less. A lot of people run the 912's at 5500 all day. I get 85 to 90 in the low to mid 4k range and I'm sipping fuel at 2.5 to 3.5 gph. (yeah, I said 2.5)
My plugs are looking good and my oil is still crystal clear after 40 hours.

Re: Where did you fly today?

Very jealous of that fuel burn rate! :( That's a nice plane. I like all that window area. Plenty good views out the cockpit.

Is it me, or is that front wheel always spinning while your flying?
