Where did you fly today?

Did you fly somewhere cool, take photos, and feel like telling the tale to make us drool from the confines of our offices? Post them up!

I try to look nice at work...flying Cubs is just dirty fun...though I dressed this way flying for CC most days I was there. They won't let me take the DA-40 into sweet strips like Matt's, so no need putting on the jeans, boots, and BCP T-shirt.

Got my Drift camera yesterday. Did a local lap to gather some test footage, then mashed it together in my first attempt at a video. Fine tuning this camera is going to be a great excuse to do a lot more flying!!!!

Killpecker Sand Dunes in the Red Desert, less than 15 miles north of Rock Springs, WY. http://www.blm.gov/wy/st/en/field_offic ... dunes.html
They go on for miles and miles and there are some huge dunes.

A big part of the dunes are open for riding--and a lot of fun. The rest (and the more fun part, from what I've ... heard) is contained within a Wilderness Study Area.

In addition the riding, I regularly see antelope, coyotes, deer, elk (including some 7x) when flying out there.

On Saturday my boy, his friend and I went to Madras for some plane work, house work, and lunch at The Black Bear Diner. Shot guns some and went for a hour hike.

Then back to Troutdale. On the way by Mt Hood we did a loop around the top at 11235MSL

This has been the best flying weekend of 2012 so far.

Nothing too exciting but a heck of a lot of fun. Chasing Randy around.

Second attempt at a Drift video. Having a lot of fun learning.

This was my 40 minute joyride before I had to go in to work on Monday.

Re: Where did you fly today?

With the Airstreaks back on, I have been hitting some of my local sites that I can't hit in the winter while on the skis. This one is 3 miles away, about 6 K, and is hard to land unless the wind is right, I land it about every 4 times I check it out, the rest of the time the wind gods don't cooperate!Image
The second site is new to me, though very close by I just never got around to landing it until the other day. That day I landed 3 new sites so I guess I was just feeling lucky  Image
