Well, I thought I would read through this thread and then post something, but it took me months! Really enjoy all the great posts, keep them coming. Anyway, flew from Lincoln over to Cloverdale and back yesterday to look at a plane. Best way to tour the wine country. Flew over a lot of RobW56's haunts along the way (Anguin, Lake Berryessa).


North wind was ripping, so didn't get many shots in the air. Cruising along over all the vineyards was pretty cool though. Had to fly back across the valley with about a 40 deg crab.

I flew from my farm field west of Iowa City to my friend's farm field south of Iowa City. About 10 minutes each way. Noted there were only a few combines out. Most of the soybeans are done but there is still quite a bit of corn standing.
At his hangar, we looked at his FD CTSW and talked about the Rans S20 kit he will start working on next week. I'll try to start on my Rans S7 kit the same time.
First, I have to get the rest of my corn combined.

A shot from a couple days ago. I'm afraid the season is winding down for flying with the door open.

Running the river yesterday, watch for round motor traffic...



(just red oak and pine green left for the most part, but every so often you hit some color)

I taught a clinic on "Contact Flying" at Iowa Falls a while back. The young lady instructor, Kristi, I think, was there.

I don't wanna sound like a sissy, but that blood is pretty corrosive & like salt water on float plane, can run into places where you can't wash it out. Next time, you might wanna think about throwing down a layer or two of cardboard first.

Picked a friend after dropping his plane off for annual. It was only 15 miles so why not fly!

Went for a lap around the patch yesterday, but the rain chased me back to the hanger...
Time to land!

Then I did some hanger flying with the dog.

I was waiting on parts that didn't show up Friday so I went and played in upstate New York with Joe and his carbon cub

Lol, yeah, I am still learning the finer points of posting pictures on here. The dog is pretty stable at unusual attitudes though...loves to ride in airplanes, or on the snow machine.
