Where did you fly today?

If you recall, the 175 started life as a nosedragger, hence why he might cry and its current status if he truly loved nose wheels. Jokes...

Exciting day for me today. My executive assistant made her first off-airport landing, and on the island strip she helped build!

High Desert Snow

I was able to get out between snowstorms and Christmas obligations. I shot a few photos from my local area. I have more photos here:http://www.alexewellsphotography.com/new-blog/ if you care to look at my little write-up on camera settings, locations, and picture captions.

Merry Christmas to all,

Alex

Where did you fly today?

Edit- meant to put this in the where did you not fly post. No flying today but I got the gear installed finally. Almost have everything all back together. It weighed in at 1454lbs after the gear tires and prop. Pretty happy with that for now. Image

Been getting squared away on the new bird. O-200 sure out does the old C-85. Unfortunately, winter weather has kept any far flung adventures from happening, so in the pattern it was today.

Re: Where did you fly today?

I thought you only had the maule on skis not the 182! How's it do? Do you have the straight ski plates for the schniders?

Re: Where did you fly today?

Now that makes a long runway....idk if that's cheating. Either way that's cool to see the 182 on the lake with the cabin behind. Awesome!

Awesome! Yes! How does it do? At one point skis were an option for the 205. I'd love to do it when I have money to burn someday!

I use the Maule when the snow gets deep. Penetration skis are a compromise at best. That being said the 182 works well for me. I have a groomed strip on the lake so the set up works ok. I have the plates but have not used them, I guess I should just to see how they perform.
I had originally bought the Schneiders for the Maule to replace the Landis 3000's. I got tired of jacking the airplane out of the overflow and blocking it up off the ice but never used them. Built a set of Hydraulic skis instead and have been very happy with them. Like I said the skis are a compromise but with them I can enjoy the 182 in the winter.

Re: Where did you fly today?

Took a day after christmas trip from central oregon to the valley for a few hours to open gifts with the inlaws. It's about a 45 minute flight and we can land ten. Minutes from their house. Word on the street is that the road traffic was bumper to bumper and about five plus hours to drive over the mountain passes.
