Where did you fly today?

Did you fly somewhere cool, take photos, and feel like telling the tale to make us drool from the confines of our offices? Post them up!

Re: Where did you fly today?

Got my ASES rating today from Kenmore Air. I couldn't be more pleased with their training and service. Thanks so much Kenmore Air!

Re: Where did you fly today?

Today I flew to almost there nearest airport, landed, had tacos with a couple of buddies then came back. Not even an hour on the Hobbs but it felt great to be up. Have a typical f room the left seat sunset pic of Colorado but I can't seem to upload on my phone.

Where was that photo taken?
I think Kenmore used to do a fair amount of their salt water training over on Dabob Bay, near Quilcene on the Olympic Peninsula.
That's about 15 south of my house.

Yup, that’s the beach on Dabob just south of Quilcene.

Kenmore was out of the salt water training for years when we were just running the two super cubs, nice to have a 172 in the fleet again to expand the training envelope.

Some may remember I had a thread earlier this year looking for a 172 seaplane. Thanks to this forum we found that fine machine in Alex’s picture, she’s got the smoothest running lycoming I’ve ever flown behind.

172 is about the best float plane trainer out there, you really have to learn how to fly the floats. No hi thrust launch in that airplane!

With those ski runs, roads, slide chutes, or whatever they are...
it looks like an eruption of white lava.
Very cool pic.

Flat light on Saturday.

Heading out to hit the lakes. Landing was a bit like the proverbial glassy water. You can't see the snow.

I never really say it but, great work BRD! I love your stuff. Especially the Ice Boats from a while back. And the blue light above.

Here's a couple I got the other evening here in Central Oregon:

Re: Where did you fly today?

Quick flight yesterday around west central MN to keep the engine lubed up before the temps drop. Not too much to see around here. -16F this morning. I keep the Reiff sump heater and cowl blanket on in the hangar and that keeps things nice and toasty; oil usually about 100 degrees on startup.
