Where did you fly today?

Did you fly somewhere cool, take photos, and feel like telling the tale to make us drool from the confines of our offices? Post them up!

Nice prop stoppage. Did you use a special filter for that?

Re: Where did you fly today?

It was my daughters 6th birthday today and her cousins came to visit. A couple of them have been up in a chopper and an airplane a few years ago, and it was the first time for one of them. They enjoyed it. The 206 is really great for these kind of days.Image

Currently camping at a friend's private ranch with good rough strip and even an old spare hangar. Flew over an old cold war ICBM site this morning. Cool to see the fake tanks and SAMs that once fooled Soviet recon. Stopped at Murphy Hot Springs to stretch our legs and enjoy a PB&J. Thanks Snake River Brush Pilots for keeping it mowed and dragged.

Could we see a pic of your Camper /Trailer set up which houses the plane? And maybe hear a little more about it. It sounds genius-

Re: Where did you fly today?

Enjoyed maybe? the last day of the season flying around with my arm out the window. Last week we had snow on the ground, this week it's been almost 70 & sunny. This is on a short trip to a grass strip about 35 miles away. Nothing special, just a nice flight in the mountains.

102" trailer? I'm sure you've seen those 5 th wheel horse trailers that also have living accommodations up front. But your pickup camper looks like the best solution, the most compact overall. I have heard of one person with a folder, who will remain anonymous, who commissioned a custom built trailer, 106" or 108" I think it was. The theory was (and so far so good) that LEO wouldn't notice, and the extra few inches made a world of difference, made it doable for their particular bird. Scofflaws [-X Great setup, thanks for sharing.

When I get back to a real keyboard, I'll replyin detail. Meanwhile. I recently heard a quote that I thought was a perfect reply to this.

Workaround is sometimes necessary for safety and efficiency. But we artists also have to honor those who slug it out daily under bureaucratic restraint. We are all in this together. Wait! "We're just here to help."
