Went over and checked out Limon, CO today to see if it would be any good for night sky pictures. Beautiful weather around Denver, but an overcast layer was hanging out over the airport. A little on the windy side, but right down the runway. Betsy doesn't much like taxiing in the wind, but we made it to the pilot shack without needing to spin around the other way.
Practically leaped off the ground on the way out, especially since this is the lowest DA the airplane has likely seen in 6+ months. Climbed up above the clouds through a nice hole and enjoyed some VFR on top until the layer gave way to clear skies again. Neat how the layer to the south over COS area today had this "rolling waves" look to it, not unlike the mountains it had just come from. Pity it was 200OVC there!
