Damn Gump............your plane has almost the exact same paint job as my C-180. When I saw the picture I did a double take thinking it was mine. I'll see if I can figure out how to upload a picture of mine.

Flew into Big Bear, CA (L35) for lunch on Sunday, but felt like I was going into LAX  ! Planes everywhere and when I was on a modified short final over the lake (to avoid the homes on the north shore like the instructions say to do) for RWY 8, some knuckle head in another Cessna taxied up to 8 and then started to DEPART 8 in front of me  . I know I called, on the 45, downwind, base and final, so I don't know what that jack ass was thinking (I had to do a go around). But the Burger was great at the Barnstormer Cafe. Oh, then Big Bear ran out of 100LL :( .

So I went over to Hesperia and then on final there was a Cherokee landing DOWNWIND . He ended up diverting and getting into the proper pattern for RWY 3. Again, I called all my positions and didn't hear anyone else in the pattern (except for a departing Cessna on RWY 3 when I was on the downwind), then you get a surprise like that again on final  . The card reader at the fuel pump wasn't working so we had to go down to Rialto to get fuel. Beware, after hours there's no bathroom available at the Chevron pump.

All in all, it was a great day for flying in the LA basin and so far the ATC is really great to work with down here.

Don't forget to use the "right" tail number at the opportune moment, for plausable deniability.

Wow, cheap. $4.35 or so at Jefferson County (western washington) yesterday. Private vendor taking over the fuel sales this week so hoping he slashes prices (not likely).

.9 around the neighbor hood. Our wx has sucked. I don't like to let the M7 set for more than a week with out flying. So I'll fly the hood if I have to.

Cheers...Rob

Local flying on Monday PM. Did turns around a point with 30 knot wind out of the south. Landed with cross winds of 15 gusts to 21 knots...keeps you on your toes. Planning on a short trip yet this afternoon.

Nice day here so I flew down the Carson River canyon and back up, doing a touch and go at Alpine County (M45). Clear of snow and ice west side and center of runway. I took video but not sure how to upload it. I'll poke around the internet for some free software and tutorial I guess!

Beautiful sunny day in No. Cal. (except for the fog in all the valleys) so took my Mom who is visiting from So. Carolina up for a sight seeing tour. Flew over the geysers and Clear Lake, Mt. Konocti and on to Lake Berryessa and back to Angwin. It was only the second time she has ever flown with me and she loved it!

Helped put the wings on a PT-19, flew to Ft Morgan CO, back to Sterling CO where I met up with a friend and his 172, took off from STK and met up with the Super Cat out of FTG, and all three of us flew back to SNY. Then took videos of the PT-19 take off and land at SNY. Beautiful day but tomorrow it's suppose to cold and blustery.
