Terrible picture but that was the back-up while the bridge was up on 495 this morning sometime between 1 and 2am EDT.

I would have explained it better last night but right after I took the picture traffic started moving again so I dropped my phone back in the center console where it belongs on the road.

King's Dominion, VA. Rode ALL the roller coasters except one wood one that went down for maintenance.

Off my home grass strip which is shorter, partly flooded and soft to walk.
I feel for farmers who can't get a crop in this year..
some experiencing damage erosion and losses.

Ranger creek last Sunday. We drove to the airstrip, knowing there was good camping there. Low clouds prevented anyone from flying up the valley until early evening when a red and white Chinook flew past up the valley. They were headed to Crystal mountain to replace a chunk of a ski lift that had been damaged by an avalanche. We got to see some of the action the next day.

Ranger Creek (northeast of Mt. Rainier.) has had some improvements since I was last there a year or two ago. Gravel parking area, plus exclusive picnic tables and fire rings away from the general camping rif-raf on the other side of the runway barrier.

The wild strawberries around the runway were ripe too.

Here's one of the Chinook. A quick search, sounds like about $8000/hour to run the thing.

it's a CH-46 sea knight not a CH-47 Chinook.

the chinook has 4 landing gear the sea knight has 3, and the nose gear on the sea knight is longer

Currently waiting to not fly LIT-DFW-DCA.
