Seeing those polar bears would give a whole new meaning to the statement "I feel like a snack".

Didn't fly the Avenger. But did take some promotional video for the new company! Here's our CTO demonstrating Wing Wipe on a super cool plane.

Resurrecting an old thread, I flew the Briggs and Stratton yesterday around my local patch for the last time. Left traffic. Then drained the gas in it and the trimmer for the movers!

Where did you NOT fly today??

I did not fly to Snowshoe Mountain Resort for my buddies bachelor party. The party consisted of some sweet downhill biking.

Little did we know, there was a yoga festival on the mountain called Wanderlust. This is a magical event where the female to male ratio is about 10:1. There were no shortage of fit ladies running around and posing in yoga pants.

It was an awesome weekend. They say WV is "Almost Heaven". I would have to agree.

Unless you can post more pictorial proof, it didn't happen. One slightly blurry shot isn't going to cut it here, Mister!!

Re: Where did you NOT fly today??

A few days late on the report, but we did not fly from southern MD to northern AL, and most certainly did turn a 12 hour drive into a 16 hour drive with puppy piddle and play stops. Spent today unpacking all we brought (3,000 lbs) to prepare the movers and their drop off tomorrow :-D

With those purple pants, you were dangerously close to having to turn in your Man Card! However, the Review Committee has determined that there is ample photographic evidence that you performed Manly Duties in an appropriate and compensatory fashion. Further photographic evidence could be effective in heading off future criticism should you ever decide to wear those pants again...

Re: Where did you NOT fly today??

Did some hangar flying at the Pack River Aviation Global Headquarters in Sandpoint, Idaho yesterday with an honored guest! And Erin even brought her goofball husband Zane along too - we had a heck of a time getting him out of the Bush Hawk... He kept muttering something about "...I didn't know I finished my Bear Hawk... When did I finish my Bear Hawk??? I don't understand... I don't have a float rating!"

Yeah, beer was involved. 8)

It was great catching up with you yesterday and meeting your wife, too. Dinner was great, we had a lot of fun! Flying next time we get together!

Re: Where did you NOT fly today??

Rode the smoker home from Juneau earlier this week, and was treated to a spectacular view of the coast. Gave me a whole new respect for what it must be like to make the flight up north. Someday... =P~

Craned my neck to get a shot of Rainier on arrival to SEA, then ended up flying right past it and getting a great view on the way to SLC!

Great pics, that's my mountain!

I can't say I've gotten that much altitude over it though in the Maule.

Re: Where did you NOT fly today??

Had a chance to fly with Frank Borman (Apollo 8, Gemini, Eastern airlines) to his ranch this past weekend. He in his turbine L19 and me in the 170. Unfortunately winds not favorable so we drove. Frank was donating his WWII collection to our local EAA hangar. Walked in his hangar/museum to see the Collier trophy front and center. Holly crap. Adorning the walls are letters from one of the Wright brothers, Lindberg, J Doolittle, Chuck Yeager and too many presidents to count. Holly crap. Nav charts for the first trip to the moon. Wow. His model airplane collection which was near to my heart. A telegraph to Russia outlining the orbit of Apollo 8 so as not to start a nuclear war. And the list goes on. Unfortunately I am a quiet guy but being in his presence I could speak even less. When I would look at him all I could think was he has been to the moon, oh my gosh he has been to the moon, wow what do you say. A true american hero and an absolute gentleman. Wish we could have flown then I would have taken some pictures.

I'd like to hear ore about that turbine BirdDog & see some pics. Factory? I believe Cessna did make a few. Or is it a Sia Marchetti SM109? Saw one of those twice recently at my airport, on a set of amphib floats.
