Avgas Cost
Nothing happens without it. Discuss fuel locations, quality, alternatives, and anything else related to this critical resource.
Rotax user here, so I am a non-ethonal user. It went from $3.65 last month to $4.74 two days ago. Not a good trend.

$4.70 lately here in Heber
AvGas is $6.15 today
Sadly I am gonna build a plane that takes AvGas rather than MoGas.
But doing the math on engine cost differences, it would take many times TBO to reach the $34,000 difference between the Rotax 915 ($60,000 all in engine and prop) and the 200hp Lycoming (all in engine and prop) I am going with.

Ethanol free 87 octane here in town is $3.35
10% ethanol 87 is $3.
My friend with an Air Tractor burning Jet-A said it wasn't much different than last year for him.
I think we are around $4 at our airport for 100LL
I put E-85 85% ethanol in my car the other day and it was $2.17 at Primghar Iowa. That was 37 cents less than in my town 10 miles away.

Around here, 87 octane E10 is 3.97 where I get it.
87 octane e-zero for the airplane is 4.34.
The 100LL at my airport is 6.38, although it's like a buck cheaper at a number of other airports in the region.
I only burn about 20% avgas, so I generally just buy it here,
mainly because the outfit selling it is owned by a friend of mine.

Boulder KBDU is $5.19, Platte Valley 18V is $4.80
And to think a year ago we were paying just over $3 a gallon.
