Where did you fly today?

Did you fly somewhere cool, take photos, and feel like telling the tale to make us drool from the confines of our offices? Post them up!

Where did you fly today?

RP I wanted to go there on your suggestion but we just didn't have the time last Friday. Someday...

Where did you fly today?

With the help of a Portland Tribune box and various other phones and objects stabilizing my iPhone, we managed a photo in front of Noho's Hawaiian joint, where a few of the Colorado contingent dined with a few of the Oregon dudes.

Used to frequent NoHo's on a monthly basis, 95 to 08 when I lived in PDX. Amazing food and huge portions. Feel the drool running down my chin now. Hope to make it there again some day.

Yesterday, my buddy Brian Adams and I splashed down in the Inner Lake George of the Knik Glacier and tied to an iceberg to get some 10,000 year-old ice for some 40 year-old Scotch for a party later. Not a usual flying destination for BCP, but the SPA is getting kinda boring these days. I took this picture about 30 seconds before Brian almost went for a very COLD swim in VERY cold water while trying to get on the iceberg. Wish I had been filming it!! It would have been really funny for a few seconds, then it would have been a survival issue trying to bring him aboard the float with his waders full of water, and the having to warm him up from a dip in freezing water. Not funny any more. Anyway, better than going to the grocery store for ice.

Wow, cool shot.......!! Literally. Good on you guys turning an ice run into an adventure.

Is "inner lake George" the lower or upper lake?

Re: Where did you fly today?

Finished my TD endorsement today!

1.7 hrs of wheel landings to round out the training. It was a nice gusty crosswind, too. Made for some great training! Lucky I've got helicopter feet so it all went pretty quick.

Here's the beast I got to train in:

I don't know that I'll ever be truly happy in a trike again :-D

Re: Where did you fly today?

Congrats on the TW endorsement! You're flying in some seriously heavy airspace out of Pax River.

I flew up to Pinedale today to get my biannual. Speaking of heavy airspace...glad to get 'er done and be back in the hangar before the fireworks tonight at the ranch .

Re: Where did you fly today?

My brother met a guy who told him the story of when descended to the airport with a huge load of ice on his 182. After landing the ice begin to melt and fall off in chunks. He picked up a chunk, took it to the airport bar, put it in a glass and poured some Scotch over it.

I kinda prefer to chip it off an iceberg than to peel it off the wings after making it on descent!! A bit scary, don't you think??

No pics, but flew an EC-145 around Arlington today for 2.0. Day one of my pilot orientation on this airframe to prep for TPS.

Fun bird!
