Where did you fly today?

Did you fly somewhere cool, take photos, and feel like telling the tale to make us drool from the confines of our offices? Post them up!

Yerington, Hawthorne, Gabbs, and the world famous truckframe windmill. Much nicer than that windy old east coast stuff.

Went flying with Gump today - had a great time. That is my fairly new (to me) 172 in the foreground. The weather was perfect. The truckframe windmill was barely turning in the light breeze - another beautiful summer day in N Nevada.

Re: Where did you fly today?

And now for something a little different.
I scouted out a new single track trail to try out my new (to me) Husaberg.
Didn't make it all the way to the trail this ride as the access route i scouted was a bit more than expected. But the bike's awesome.

I was renting, but I turned the plane in with a lttle dirt on the tires and they did not appreciate it. Owning is much better than renting - I can put as much dirt on the tires as I want too.

Thanks Rob. It has a lycoming 0-360 A1B - 200 hp, fuel injected with a constant speed prop. I'll post some pics and more info on the "show your plane thread".

Re: Where did you fly today?

Great video S-12. Y'all sure do have a great playground up there.

Nice bike too. I've got a FE 450. If you don't have the map switch, get it. Really wakes these bikes up.

Kevin,

That 3 blade MT looks fantastic on your 180! I love mine on my Husky.

Re: Where did you fly today?

No pics, but today I started my TD training!

With Marianne Buckley, if any of y'all know her and her 7KCAB.

Took off from KVKX, did some steep turns, stalls and spins to familiarize the aircraft, then take offs and landings at 2W5. Today was 3-point training with a nice crosswind. Next flight (hopefully tomorrow) is wheel landings!
