Where did you fly today?

Did you fly somewhere cool, take photos, and feel like telling the tale to make us drool from the confines of our offices? Post them up!

Got that right. We just bought a "cherry" '07 Dodge Cummins from a dealer in TX. Don't know what came over me...I'm a loyal Bowtie man. Anyway, had it transported to Lucedale, MS where my dad picked it up after Rotax school and drove X/C back to Seattle. So far it has cost us a clutch, brakes, u-joint, batteries, and needs a set of injectors. Of course all our fault, dealer pretty much told us to shove it. If you're ever in the market for a used truck I can recommend a dealer in the Austin, TX area to avoid.

My DD is a 02 Dmax CCSB with 240000 miles on it. I paid 6k for it 4 years ago and it has been great. It now needs injectors but I figured for what I paid for it and how good it has been to me I'll keep it and replace the injectors rather than kick it to the curb.

I don't own a car. I have a mid 90's chevy truck I borrow at work.

I always wondered why the guys down under drove on the left side. Your picture of the truck on the beach just may everything crystal clear.
Thanks

Lol

Back on topic, I got to do an autorotational landing assessment for a couple of hours yesterday in an OH-58C. LOTS of fun!

Re: Where did you fly today?

I'm at 38,000' riding coach a 757 heading back to Seattle from Washington DC. The Potomac River was completely frozen over, and most of the country is encased in a frigid blanket of snow. The land below me isis fading into dusky shadow, but the plumes of cooling water vapour coming from power plants rise high enough to glow in the setting sun. Every flight still makes me smile even if I'm not at the controls!

Re: Where did you fly today?

I don't fly commercially very often, but other than waiting and being squeezed into the seat when I do I usually enjoy it. I like to get a window seat and just watch the countryside go by. It's surprising to me how many pax never look out the window. I was on board a flight to SoCal taking off out of SEA last year right before Seafair, we took off north and as we turned south over Lake Washington I looked down and saw a flight of Blue Angels practicing their show routine. I said "hey, look- the Blue Angels" to my seatmates, and got a "who cares" look (and that was all) in return. Amazing.

Great day of flying with Rob and dudestickle. The pics from my phone don't do it justice. I have some decent video footage from the phone, but will take a bit to get it put together. Flew around and hit some of Rob's backyard off airport strips. Had a great time fellas. Look forward to doing it again. Hopefully soon (with my own plane)!

Re: Where did you fly today?

I flew into Moose Creek this morning (03/01/2015), as you can see by the photo of the runway there is no snow and the strip is in good condition. As is always the case this time of year the long strip is closed so we landed on runway 04. Great flight :D :D

Wow, BRD! I would have much rather had your day, wind and all! This was me in JFK last night - no, it was this morning! I'm still relatively happy in the picture because we were only 2 hours into our deicing delay. We ended up leaving 6 hours late, extended our Flight Duty Period to get everyone to SLC and us home. In bed by 7am, was supposed to be home by midnight last night!

Image

They had 3 B777's deicing one after the other, blocking us in the alleyway. Took over 1 hour each just to knock the snow off of them. I'm beat! By comparison, our B757 only took 13 minutes...

Mike, 15 minutes for your 57 takes less time than using a heat gun on a Comanche... :?
