Great day so far. I did Solider Bar, Shearer, and Moose Creek.

Piperpainter just got here in the Mooney.

Solider Bar is a 37 in the Fly Idaho Book, bumpy.

My Friend Steve Pierce was flying my Miss Daisy to Texas and he met up with Mountain Matt and the brown dog in Utah. Steve and Cathy were coming from JC and The Dog Matt and the red Stinson were headed that way.
Got a great picture sent to me of the Dog and Miss Daisy in the red dirt.

Wow it sounds like Jomacs flying instructions are working out well at JC and a few others. Rob you better look after those guys we sure don't need any more wrecks.

I hope every one has a safe flight home, I had hopes of being there but It just wasn't in the cards.

Home from J Creek. All safe, no broken parts. More later. Just checking in.

Hey Floyd, looks like I didn't do a very good job. On the bright side no one got dead and there will be some happy APs. My condolences to those who bent there planes.

I'm looking forward to a trip report from someone who was about to make it...I sure wish I would have been there. Never good to hear news about someone bending their plane but I'm sure interested to hear what happened...so hopefully I won't make the same mistake.

Re: 06/26/2009 - Annual BCP Summer Fly-in - Johnson Creek, ID

Wonder trip!!
Made it back home to SNY today about 5:00.
Left JC about 7:15. flew over Big Creek, Vines, Dewey Moore, Cabin Creek, Mile Hi, Soldier Bar, Bernard, Flying "B", and Lower Loon on the way to Challis for fuel. On to Afton for lunch, fuel stop at Laramie where Garry and I split up...he to GXY and me to SNY...had the worst landing of the whole trip at SNY...I think I was tired!
Very good flying accross all the way.
Good to meet everyone!
Wish everyone a happy and safe trip home...to fly another day!

Re: 06/26/2009 - Annual BCP Summer Fly-in - Johnson Creek, ID

What a wonderful trip! 1450nm of some of America's harshest terrain. I touched down back home at 1:30PM just before the storms moved in. The 108 made the most of the tailwind and WY went by pretty quick.

You folks area a great group of people. For my first time meeting anyone from here and my first time in the backcountry I couldn't have picked a better group. You all are top notch and the pleasure was all mine.

I have at least 1000 pictures to go through, I think I'll try to make a video this week of the trip.

Cheers
Matt and Shep

One more thing...

A HUGE thanks to everyone that helped and brought food for the pot luck. It was outstanding and a great time around the campfire sharing stories. I haven't ate food that good while camping in a long time. =D>

Everybody there was GREAT!!

Thanks Paul and Bev. You have the grounds looking spectacular.

The potluck and micro brew gathering went off with military special ops precision. Thanks Mark and Kitty for hosting. After dinner at the camp fire Jeremy talked to us about how we all need to promote flying or it will die out for private pilots. We discussed how we all need to be involved with Idaho Aviation Association, Utah Back Country Pilots. We need to donate or join IAA because they keep the Idaho strips open.

Brian AKA piperpainter, and Adam came rippen and slippen in, in his Mooney. That boy can fly. They had to leave early to return to military duty I think.

taildrgfun, of dead stick take off fame, was there in his Highlander.

I'm so bad with names. We had a Maule driver come in from the east coast!

My wife and I landed on our way back to Texas from Johnson Creek when a Stinson flies over and then lands. We meet Matt and Shep who are on their way to Johnson Creek.

Well were back home. My son and I were the east coast Maule drivers. Arrived home yesterday about 4:00 PM safe and sound. Total trip was over 3600 nm. 35.2 hours hobbs in the plane time on the trip.
We had a great time and enjoyed meeting everyone.
